EMPowerAI Lab is an incubation project under the “Jockey Club Smart Teens Actions – ASCEND Tech for Good Scheme”, which is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organised by Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation and Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The ASCEND Scheme aims to advocate digital inclusion and drive the development of smart cities for positive social impact.

CanTone 很高興於去年6月12日與保良局鄧碧雲紀念幼稚園合作，為非華語小朋友舉辦了一場父親節主題中文班！💙👨‍👦✨

這次我們不單止延續父親節主題，更提前教授小朋友一些賣旗相關對話，為保良局賣旗日作準備💝

特別開心的是，去年參加我們新年主題班的小朋友今年已經從K2升上K3！他們從小弟弟小妹妹變成了班上的「大哥哥大姐姐」，在課堂上主動做起榜樣，在互動學習環節充滿自信地帶領其他小朋友用CanTone App與可愛的粉紅小熊AI「棉花」進行對話練習，為其他小朋友樹立了好榜樣！🐻💪

即使是比較害羞的新同學，看到大哥哥大姐姐這麼勇敢，也逐漸放鬆，勇敢開口。課堂上充滿了歡笑聲和掌聲，小朋友越講越有自信，整個學習過程輕鬆愉快又充滿成就感 🎉😊

看到他們從去年害羞小聲講，到今年自信大聲示範的成長，真的是我們最大的鼓勵！❤️

CanTone 會繼續努力，為更多幼兒設計有趣的主題課程，幫助更多少數族裔小朋友從小輕鬆愉快地學習廣東話和中文💙 期待下次再回到學校，見證更多小朋友的進步與笑容！

CanTone is delighted to have collaborated with PLK Tang Bik Wan Memorial Kindergarten on June 12 last year to organize a special Father’s Day themed Cantonese class for NCS kindergarten students! 💙👨‍👦✨

This time, we also prepared the children in advance by teaching them practical flag-selling dialogues for Po Leung Kuk’s Flag Day 💝. We were especially happy to see that many children who joined our CNY class last year have now moved up from K2 to K3! These little ones have grown from shy little brothers and sisters into confident “big brothers and big sisters” in the class. During the interactive session, they took the initiative to act as role models — bravely demonstrating how to chat with our adorable pink bear AI “Cotton” using the CanTone App, and encouraging the other children to join in 🐻💪. The whole learning process was joyful, relaxed, and full of a wonderful sense of achievement 🎉😊. Seeing their growth is truly our greatest encouragement and reward ❤️.

CanTone will continue to work hard to design more fun and engaging themed courses for young children, helping even more ethnic minority kids learn Cantonese and Chinese happily from an early age 💙.

CanTone 很高興於去年6月10日為香港基督教女青年會趣沂幼稚園的非華語學生舉辦了一連兩場父親節主題中文班！💙👨‍👦✨讓非華語幼兒在輕鬆愉快的氛圍中，學習如何用中文表達對爸爸的愛與感謝☺️

活動以手工環節開始，小朋友們專注地製作父親節禮物💝然後緊接最受歡迎的互動學習環節，小朋友使用CanTone App與AI進行對話練習。他們輪流練習父親節祝福語，並大膽嘗試與AI對話。令人高興的是，小朋友表現得非常主動，紛紛舉手爭相參與，即使是較為害羞的同學，也在我們的鼓勵下逐漸放鬆，勇敢開口。課堂上充滿了笑聲和成就感，小朋友越講越有自信，使學習過程非常輕鬆愉快😊🎉

衷心感謝學校給予我們這次寶貴的合作機會，CanTone 會繼續努力，設計更多適合幼兒的有趣主題課程，幫助更多少數族裔孩子輕鬆愉快地學習中文 💙📚

CanTone is delighted to have organized two special Father’s Day themed Chinese classes on June 10 last year for the non-Chinese speaking students at YWCA Helen Lee Kindergarten! 💙👨‍👦✨

The session began with a fun hands-on craft activity, where the children focused on making beautiful Father’s Day gifts 💝. And then we moved on to the most popular part — the interactive learning session! The children took turns using the CanTone App to practice Father’s Day related vocab with our friendly AI. ☺️

We were especially happy to see how proactive the children were — many eagerly raised their hands to participate. Even the shyer ones gradually relaxed with gentle encouragement, eventually speaking up with growing confidence. The classroom was filled with laughter and a wonderful sense of achievement as the children became more and more confident with each try 😊🎉.

Thank you the school for this valuable collaboration opportunity. CanTone will continue to work hard to design more engaging courses, helping even more NCS children learn Chinese in a fun and stress-free way! 💙📚

不敢相信，轉眼間，CanTone 已經走過三個年頭了🥹回想 2023 年，我們在理工大學好薈社種子基金的扶持下，從一個簡單的想法起步——希望運用 AI 創新科技，為香港的少數族裔（尤其是非華語兒童）打造一個親切有效的粵語學習平台💡🤖到今天，我們服務對象年齡層拓展至全部人，服務範疇也愈來愈廣泛。我們不只教語言，更推動多元文化雙向共融及AI技能提升🚀

CanTone 的名字，寓意「港・通」——希望每一個在香港生活的孩子與成人，不論種族背景，都能「通」過語言與科技，真正融入這座多元文化的城市🏙️❤️

CanTone 很高興於去年6月7日與HOPE Centre 合作，為少數族裔小朋友舉辦了一場父親節主題廣東話班！💙👨‍👦✨

我們當日一開始和小朋友一起專心地製作父親節禮物，然後用CanTone App練習小朋友父親節相關廣東話。小朋友輪流分享「爸爸最鍾意做咩」或「爸爸最叻係咩」，越講越有自信！

當日有不少參加者是CanTone最初成立時便開始參與我們的活動，感恩大家喜歡我們的活動！CanTone 會繼續努力為更多少數族裔小朋友帶來有趣互動的廣東話體驗💙

CanTone is delighted to have partnered with HOPE Centre on June 7 last year to organize a Father’s Day themed Cantonese class for ethnic minority children! 💙👨‍👦✨

We started the session by making special Father’s Day gifts together with the children. After the DIY session, we moved on to practicing Father’s Day-related Cantonese phrases using the CanTone App. The kids took turns sharing sentences such as “爸爸最鍾意做咩？” (What does Dad like to do most?) and “爸爸最叻係咩？” (What is Dad best at?), and their confidence grew noticeably with every try!

It was especially meaningful that many of the participants were families who have been with CanTone since our very early days. We are truly grateful for their continued support and for loving our classes!

CanTone will keep working hard to bring more fun, interactive, and meaningful Cantonese learning experiences to even more ethnic minority children.💙
