Things parents asked out loud today:

"Which kindergarten is right for my child?"
"Bilingual or English medium?"
"How do we prepare for the interview?"

Good questions. All of them.

Our kindergarten admissions workshop was meant to cover applications and timelines. It did.
But the better conversation was the honest one — what to actually expect, how to prepare, and how much of the pressure you can just put down.

And we walked away learning too. Every year, your questions show us what families are really weighing up, and where we can explain things better.

Please keep asking, because we're listening.

We said goodbye to some of our children last week who will soon start Kindergarten. To send them off, we put on a celebratoryexhibition — with every child’s work in it, and not just the leavers.

On the walls: paintings, photographs, handprints and footprints. Next to them, the children’s own words, written down exactly as they said them, in English, and Nepali.

Children show you what they are thinking in lots of different ways. Some talk. Some point. Some take your hand and pull you across the room. Some press a hand into paint to see what happens. We try to notice all of it, write it down, and take it seriously.

That’s the approach we are inspired by - the Reggio Emilia approach, and the main idea is simple: children are capable and full of ideas, and the adult’s job is to pay attention.

A special thank you to two of our mothers, who have worked alongside us all year — helping us understand their children better than we could have on our own.

Thank you to the families, aunties, and carers who came and looked slowly. And to the children leaving us — we have loved watching you work. Come back and tell us everything.

Welcoming our fourth group of student volunteers from The Education University of Hong Kong — future teachers and linguists learning alongside our youngest.⁣

Inclusion doesn't stop at our doors. It grows through the people who'll go on to shape classrooms across Hong Kong.⁣

If you're a university, educator, or organisation who wants to be part of it — reach out. Let's build inclusive education in Hong Kong, together.⁣

That's a wrap on our Early Childhood Series: Supporting Children – A Parent's Guide! 💛

Over three Sunday mornings, our parents came together with Jacqueline, Educational Psychologist, to talk about the things that can make a difference at home:

🧡 Behaviour and Consequence
🧡 Setting Rules and Expectations
🧡 Milestones and Early Intervention

The best part? The conversations. Parents sharing what works, what doesn't, and realising they're not alone in any of it.

At Kriti, learning doesn't stop with our little ones. Our parents learn. Our team learns. And honestly, we learn the most from each other.

Thank you to every parent who showed up, asked questions, and shared openly. And thank you Jackie for guiding us through it all. 🙏

More sessions coming soon!

As Autism Awareness Month comes to a close, we're reflecting on a meaningful finale at Kriti Children's Centre - a dedicated workshop for migrant workers serving as childminders—key stakeholders right alongside parents. 🌱

We dove into developmental milestones and raised awareness about Autism, equipping participants with knowledge to better support the children they care for every day.

Uplifting this essential community is crucial—they're integral to families' lives, providing unwavering care. What would homes look like without their dedication, and ensuring smooth daily routines? How can we show our appreciation?

We’re proud to have connected with one of the most important pillars in our community. Excited for more opportunities to collaborate and grow together with these powerful women! 💙
