Happy Winter Solstice 冬至快樂! 🎉 Do you know what the royal family used to wear for Winter Solstice back in the Qing dynasty? 👚👗👔🧦 At festivals and banquets, they wore the jifu 吉服 (festive dragon robe), covered by a dark blue surcoat bufu 補服. Look at the jifu dragon robe of the young Emperor Guangxu (or Xuantong) with the characteristic twelve imperial symbols 十二章紋. 🐲 In formal sacrificial ceremonies, the Emperor and his consorts would wear the chaopao 朝袍 (formal court robe).
