NOTICE TO PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND STUDENTS

The Administration of North West Secondary School (NWSS) wishes to inform all stakeholders that the Regional Education Officer has advised that Grades 7 and 8 students will resume classes on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Please note that the resumption of classes will take place under very strict supervision and monitoring to ensure the continued safety and well-being of all students and staff.

Annual Examinations will also continue as per time table.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to remind students to adhere to all instructions provided by teachers and school personnel while on the school compound.

We thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our school community.

NOTICE OF RESUMPTION OF CLASSES FOR ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS.

Following the sudden suspension of classes today due to the presence of Africanised bees in and around the school compound, the administration wishes to inform parents, guardians, students, and staff that clearance has been granted for the resumption of classes from Wednesday, 17th June, on a strictly scheduled timetable.

A thorough inspection of the school surroundings was conducted by bee control personnel, who have advised that all garbage bins be properly cleaned and kept covered at all times. As an additional precautionary measure, a can of Baygon will be placed in each classroom to be used around bins when necessary.

📝 Annual Examinations
Annual Examinations will commence as scheduled on Wednesday, 17th June. Only students who are timetabled to sit examinations are required to attend school tomorrow.

🏠 Grades 7 and 8
Students of Grades 7 and 8 are asked to remain at home on Wednesday, 17th June. Once conditions remain stable and all goes well, these students will resume classes on Thursday, 18th June.

NOTICE OF SUDDEN SUSPENSION OF ALL CLASSES

North West Secondary School wishes to inform parents, guardians, and the wider school community that all classes were suddenly suspended today due to the presence of aggressive Africanised bees on the school compound.

During the morning session, one student and one teacher were unfortunately stung. This time more Bees were notice around the compound and can be described as aggressive. As a precautionary measure and to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff, the decision was made to immediately suspend classes and facilitate the safe dismissal of students.

Parents and guardians are asked to make the necessary arrangements for the collection of their children. The school is working closely with the relevant authorities to address the situation and ensure that the compound is safe before classes resume.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we place the safety of our school community as our highest priority.
