On Friday, March 13, 2026, the Guidance and Counsellors of St. George’s School of Sciences , in support of the Ministry of Education ongoing anti- bullying campaign, proudly hosted its first-ever Anti-Bullying Seminar under the theme: “Safe Schools Start with Us: Stand Up! Speak Out!”
The event was a meaningful and engaging initiative aimed at promoting awareness, empathy, and collective responsibility in addressing bullying within the school community. A highlight of the seminar was a poster competition, in which students showcased their creativity and understanding of anti-bullying messages. Trophies were awarded to first, second, and third place winners across each level.
The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Jessica Anthony, National Coordinator for School Health at the Ministry of Education. In her role, Ms. Anthony plays a vital part in advancing student well-being and supporting national efforts to foster safe and supportive school environments. She is also actively involved in the Ministry’s Anti-Bullying Campaign, promoting respect, kindness, and positive mental health in schools. Her presentation was both insightful and inspiring, encouraging students to take an active stand against bullying.
The seminar also featured a dynamic round-table discussion led by students, as well as expressive dance and poetry performances that highlighted the emotional impact of bullying. Participants were further engaged through interactive segments and giveaways.
To conclude the session, both students and staff members united in a powerful pledge to stand up and speak out against bullying. This commitment was symbolized through the signing of pledge cards, reinforcing a shared responsibility to create a safe and respectful school environment for all.
Overall, the seminar was a resounding success and marks an important step forward in the school’s ongoing efforts to combat bullying and promote a culture of care, respect, and inclusion.

𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
The Guidance & Counselling Department observed 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘 on March 2, 2026. The observance was held under the theme:
“𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 – 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 & 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐙”
The event aimed to raise awareness, promote emotional wellbeing, and equip students with practical coping strategies while encouraging open conversations about mental health.
The highlight of the day was a presentation delivered by Dr. Constantine, Clinical Psychologist employed by the Ministry of Health, Mental Health Unit. During his address, Dr. Constantine encouraged students to prioritize self-care and to pay close attention to their feelings and emotional changes. He emphasized that mental health is just as important as physical health and reminded students that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Students were also informed about available mental health resources. Dr. Constantine shared the 915 Mental Health Hotline number and the Mental Health Unit website, encouraging students to utilize these services whenever they need support or guidance.
Following the presentation, small groups were equipped with practical mindfulness techniques to assist them when feeling overwhelmed. These included guided breathing exercises, grounding strategies, and simple stress-management techniques that can be easily practiced at school or at home. The session aimed to help students develop healthy coping mechanisms and improve emotional regulation.
A thought-provoking role play was presented, highlighting that mental health issues are real and that teenagers also experience emotional and psychological struggles. The dramatization reinforced the message that no one should suffer in silence and that support systems are available.
An empowering dance performance to the song “𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐔𝐩” was also featured during the observance. The dance served as a powerful reminder to students that no matter what challenges they may face, they can rise above their circumstances. It emphasized that they are not alone and that they have the unwavering support of the adults around them.
To conclude the day’s activities, students and staff members participated in a variety of interactive games and engagement activities designed to reinforce teamwork, communication, and positive mental health practices. These activities created a supportive and safe environment where students felt comfortable expressing themselves, in addition they were given the opportunity to take something from the 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐠.
The observance of World Teen Mental Health Day 2026 was both impactful and meaningful. It provided students with valuable knowledge, accessible resources, and practical tools to support their mental well-being. The Guidance Counselling Department at St. George's School of Sciences remains committed to promoting mental wellness and creating a nurturing environment for all students.
