The Guyana Mining School and Training Centre Inc. (GMSTCI) extends sincere appreciation to Mr. Rampersaud Gopaul of Gopaul’s Jewellery and Mr. Vead Persaud of LSM and Sons Jewellers for their generous donation of gold and other materials in support of the institution’s jewellery programme.

The donations provided students Jonathan Tulsie and Tamara Carvjal with valuable hands-on experience in jewellery design and fabrication using precious metals, including the creation of the first gold jewellery piece produced at GMSTCI. The piece was showcased at Guyana’s National Gold and Jewellery Brand, “El Dorado Reimagined”, attended by His Excellency President Dr. Irfaan Ali, the Honourable Vickram Bharrat, Minister of Natural Resources, along with other Government officials and members of the diplomatic community.

During the event, President Ali highlighted Guyana’s vision of moving gold production higher up the value chain through refining, designing, hallmarking, marketing and exporting finished masterpieces.

GMSTCI remains grateful for the support shown toward advancing practical training opportunities and the continued growth of Guyana’s jewellery industry.
