We are happy to share some exciting updates from the EcoAI EduNetwork - EAIEN Project ! 🌿🤖 Our colleagues, H. Tsalapatas and O. Heidmann, successfully presented our work titled "Building Green Skills with AI: A Digital Learning Framework for Schools" at the EDULEARN conference. How can computational thinking support social inclusion and lifelong learning?
The COMPutational Seniors project develops practical learning materials based on four core principles of computational thinking:
🧩 Decomposition – breaking complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts;
🧩 Pattern recognition – identifying similarities, recurring situations, and possible solutions;
🧩 Abstraction – focusing on the most relevant information;
🧩 Algorithmic thinking – developing clear, step-by-step solutions.
Following the National Pilot Committee meeting in Lithuania, we can conclude that the content developed within the project may be useful not only for seniors, but also for immigrants and other vulnerable groups. These materials can help learners strengthen problem-solving skills, develop greater confidence, and participate more actively in everyday and digital environments.

Today at Fundacja Małopolska Izba Samorządowa, we had the second session of testing the 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝘅 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 with a group of seniors from the Kraków-Grzegórzki Senior Citizens’ Activity Centre as part of Erasmus+ COMPutational Seniors 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁.
Seniors tested the “Unplugged Activities” - a specially designed tasks that are carried out entirely without the use of a computer or electronic devices.
They practised skills such as decomposition (breaking down large problems into smaller ones), pattern recognition and algorithmic thinking, using examples such as the ‘Smart Family Shopping Planner’ and "Garden Master" activities. Thanks to the active participation of our guests, we gathered very valuable feedback through evaluation questionnaires, which will directly help us improve the educational materials we are preparing before their final publication.

Today at Fundacja Małopolska Izba Samorządowa, we had the great pleasure of testing the 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝘅 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 with a group of seniors from the Kraków-Grzegórzki Senior Citizens’ Activity Centre as part of Erasmus+ COMPutational Seniors 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁.
What are the “Unplugged Activities” we are testing?
These are specially designed tasks that are carried out entirely without the use of a computer or electronic devices. The main aim of this project is to develop key competences and soft skills in adults – particularly seniors – using the principles of 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 method.
The seniors practised skills such as decomposition (breaking down large problems into smaller ones), pattern recognition and algorithmic thinking, using examples such as the ‘Smart Family Shopping Planner’ activity. Thanks to the active participation of our guests, we gathered very valuable feedback through evaluation questionnaires, which will directly help us improve the educational materials we are preparing before their final publication.
We would like to thank all participants from Grzegórzki in Kraków for their tremendous commitment, open-mindedness and willingness to take on new challenges without the use of digital technology!
