Πόλη Υπό Κατασκευή, Διεθνές Διεπιστημονικό Συνέδριο

Με χαρά μοιράζομαι την προσπάθεια μου να συνθέσω σε ένα αφήγημα για προπτυχιακούς κυρίως φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες,
στοιχεία και διαδικασίες του γνωστικού πεδίου του αστικού σχεδιασμού και του γίγνεσθαι του χώρου της πόλης.
Ο εργαστηριακός οδηγός με τίτλο: "Βιώσιμος (;) Αστικός Σχεδιασμός. Βασικά Στοιχεία και Διαδικασίες" μόλις δημοσιεύτηκε διαδικτυακά!
Σε μια εξερευνητική και δυναμική συνεργασία συναδέλφων περίπου τριών χρόνων, με τη Μαρία Οικονόμου και τον Άρη Βαρθολομαίο προσεγγίσαμε το πεδίο με προσπάθεια σταθερής ματιάς στην εμπειρία και τη βιωσιμότητα των ελληνικών πόλεων. Την Πέμπτη 26 και την Παρασκευή 27 Μαΐου το 1ο από τα τρία workshop της σειράς σεμιναρίων "Re-thinking the spatial politics of global urbanization processes: The contested relationalities of port cities past and present" που χρηματοδοτείται από το Urban Sutdies Foundation θα λάβει χώρα στο τμήμα Αρχιτεκτονικής του ΑΠΘ Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης. The Research Unit for South European cities is organising an intensive workshop investigating transformations of housing and public space along the axis of publicness. Participants will be invited to work on particular neighborhood spaces of Thessaloniki employing mixed research methods. The workshop will be supervised by an international team of experts and includes lectures on housing and public space from a variety of disciplines related to -the study of- urban space, as well as introductory lectures on innovative and participatory urban action research methodologies.

The Research Unit for South European Cities is hosting the next meeting of the AESOP Thematic Group on Public Spaces and Urban Cultures (AESOP TG PSUC) in Thessaloniki, Greece!

The meeting is entitled “Between the home and the square: bridging the boundaries of public space”. It is structured around the concept of boundaries in public space and the relation between public space and more private spheres of urban life, like the home. By taking an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach, the meeting will discuss, challenge and rethink traditional boundaries between public and private, legal and illegal, planned and unplanned, formal and informal, natural and social, digital and material, familiar and uncanny. Moreover, the meeting will reflect on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the making and unmaking of boundaries within public space as well as between public space and the home.
