Perrotis College of Agriculture, Environment and Life Sciences -the higher education division of the American Farm School- was founded in 1996 through an endowment from Mrs. The College provides practical, theoretical, scientific and technical knowledge, educating leaders for sustainable development worldwide. With an English language curriculum, the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Arts (

B.A.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degrees prepare graduates for leading roles in life sciences, food technology, agriculture, international business and preservation of natural resources. Perrotis College is a dynamic center of higher learning at the cutting edge of scholarship and applied research on some of the fastest-growing global sectors. The College's approach to education is strongly interdisciplinary, while its pedagogical methodology is both research oriented and practical, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning-by-doing projects. Exploring the science and tradition behind Greece’s iconic spirits 🥃

Students from the University of Georgia Food Science & Technology Study Abroad Program participated in a Greek Ouzo, Raki & Tsipouro Workshop at Perrotis College, led by Sofia Lalou, PhD, Head of Food Science.

Through guided tasting, sensory analysis, and discussion, students explored the production methods, sensory characteristics, and cultural significance of traditional Greek spirits.

A taste of Greece through the science of food 🧀

Students from the University of Georgia Food Science & Technology Department Study Abroad Program joined a hands-on Greek Cheese Tasting Workshop at Perrotis College, led by Sofia Lalou, PhD, Head of Food Science.

Through sensory evaluation and discussion, students explored the unique characteristics, traditions, and food science behind authentic Greek cheeses.

The spotlight belonged to our graduates as we celebrated a remarkable milestone in their journey.

Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and distinguished guests from the international academic community, the Class of 2026 was recognized for its achievements, perseverance, and growth. We were especially honored by the presence of Dr. Ann Marie VanDerZanden of Iowa State University and keynote speaker Dr. Vincent Boudreau, President of The City College of New York, and grateful to all our guests who joined this memorable celebration.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents and families whose unwavering support, encouragement, and belief helped make this moment possible.

As they embark on their next chapter, we celebrate all they have accomplished and look forward to all that lies ahead.

World Environment Day is a reminder that sustainability is built through everyday actions. 🌍

As part of environmental awareness initiatives, students of Perrotis College participated in a beach cleanup action, contributing to the protection of coastal ecosystems and promoting environmental responsibility through hands-on engagement.

Because sustainability begins with the choices and actions that shape our future.
