The participation of these teachers in educational programs abroad allowed them to receive training in new pedagogical and teaching methods. They also improved their English language skills and engaged with educators from other countries, helping to expand the network of cooperation and communication among European schools, of which our school is already a part.

Group mobility of learners and Job-shadowing
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Accredited Program 2023-1-EL01-KA121-SCH-000146087, with the title "Communication with European Friends and Life-long Learning", a group of six 6th-grade students and two accompanying teachers, Veliki Anna and Stamatiadou Anna, participated in the group mobility of learners to the Școala Gimnazială Hălchiu, near Brasov in Romania, from the 12th to the 14th June 2024, while the PE teacher Evangelou Georgios and the parallel support teacher Gkoutzourelas Theododos, joined the mobility participating in job-shadowing activities.
Students of the primary and secondary school in Halciou, wearing their traditional shirts, received the Greek team with a warm welcome, which included a traditional treat and Romanian songs and dances. Greek and Romanian students interacted in English, working in pairs and groups. They sang their National Anthems, responded to intercultural challenges, created various projects with Lego Spike, played rugby, and danced Romanian and Greek dances. A Romanian student impressed the Greek team with his 3D printed collection and explained how a 3D printer can be used.
Travelling by minibus (green travel) allowed the Greek team to visit sights in the Bulgarian and Romanian capitals, learn about important historical events, and admire the landscape of both countries.

And … the European network is expanding, thanks to a good eTwinning friend, Mariana Lazar!
On the 4th and 5th of April 2024, two teachers from the Erasmus+accreditation - 19th primary school of Serres, Anna Veliki and Stamatoula Makrypoulia, participated in a preparatory visit to Școala Gimnazială Hălchiu in Romania, to prepare and ensure high-quality activities for the forthcoming group mobility of Greek learners in Romania. A relationship of mutual trust and understanding between the two organizations has been built and the mobility has been scheduled for the week from the 10th to the 15th of June.

A new European Erasmus cooperation was established last month!

We were glad to host a brilliant team of nine students and their accompanying teachers, Doina Cosug and Cina Chiriac from the Romanian school "George Coșbuc", in Iasi, who stayed in Serres from the 24th to the 29th of March 2024. The group mobility was implemented in the framework of the Romanian accredited Eramsus+KA1 project with code 2023-1-RO01-KA121-SCH-000128413.
The Romanian and Greek students exchanged information about their schools, towns and countries and interacted in English through educational activities, sports games and cultural visits. Our guests had the chance to get acquainted with the Greek alphabet, find out common words between the Greek and the Romanian languages and learn about important events in our country's contemporary history and the connection of Iasi with it.

Besides, in the context of a job-shadowing activity, the Romanian teacher of French, Ana-Maria Samson, attended classes of French, English and History, that were delivered by the Greek teachers Stamatoula Makrypoulia, Anna Veliki and Maria Anagnostou respectively.
The fruitful and warm interaction of teachers and students of both schools gave birth to a new strong friendship and we are sure it was only the beginning of our European cooperation!

The 19th Primary School of Serres, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Accredited Program 2023-1-EL01-KA121-SCH-000146087, entitled "Communication with European Friends and Life-long Learning", was hosted on March 18-22, 2024 in Nicosia - Cyprus by Z Lakatamia Primary School. The principal of the school, Nikolaos Athanasiou, the teachers of the 6th grade, Vasiliki Psyrrouka and Anastasia Tasakou, and eight students participated in the group mobility. They attended the Cyprus school's program of lessons and workshops every day, while they also participated in the celebratory event of March 25. They visited the historical monuments of Cyprus - Tomb of the Fallen of Cyprus, the Archdiocese of Cyprus, and the Occupied part of Cyprus- and were guided to many interesting museums and sites of Cyprus. We sincerely thank the Director of the Cyprus school Mr. Panagiotis Theodorou and the Teachers for their impeccable hospitality and we express our gratitude to the Archbishop of Cyprus George for the welcome and tour in the historic Archdiocese of Cyprus.

In the context of the 2nd round (1st June 2023-31st August 2024) of our accredited project, the 1st mobility was a preparatory visit of our principal, Athanasiou Nikolaos, to the 7th primary school of Lakatameia, in Nicosia, Cyprus.
A new collaboration began and a group of 8 students and 3 teachers will visit Nicosia and work with our new friends from 17th to 22nd March!
