Last week we met again for our final conference.

The weather was perfect and we were able to present the results of our project to all interested parties.

Now we are about to finalise our policy paper in order to present our suggestions for improvement in dealing with disabilities to the European Parliament.

Day 2 of our Event in is dedicated to the In-Service Training Program. Lead of this Training Program is our partner Future in Perspective from Ireland.

The Learning Teaching and Training Event in Athens. today. The host is our partner CONNECTUS M.IKE. During the next three days, we will discuss the AAA handbook with youth workers of differently-abled citizens and prepare them to implement the AAA methodology.

Marchs’s word of the month for the AAA project is “Advocacy”.

Manuela Di Blasio from Exeo Lab Srl chose this word and explains: “Advocacy" refers to the act of supporting and defending the rights and interests of people with disabilities through actions to raise awareness and promote political and social change. In the context of the AAA project, "Advocacy" represents the direct action of young European citizens with disabilities in promoting inclusive policies and combating discrimination 💖

Advocacy involves collaborative work, active participation and the use of communication strategies to influence decisions and policies affecting people with disabilities. Furthermore, encourages the empowerment of the voices of people with disabilities so that they can be heard and considered in the public and political sphere.”

It is a special day where we that there are people who have illnesses that aren’t very common. These illnesses are rare because only a few people have them. On the last day of February, we think about these people and show them that they are not alone.

We want to make sure that people with rare diseases get the right medical care and they need. By working together, we can improve the lives of people with rare diseases and make sure they get the support they deserve

Exciting news for EU residents with disabilities! The upcoming EU Disability Card and improved European Parking Card will simplify travel and access across member states.

✅ EU Disability Card:
Recognized proof of disability across the EU.
Grants special conditions and preferential treatments.
Benefits include free entry, discounts, priority access, and more.

🚗 European Parking Card:
Uniform EU format for better recognition.
Ensures preferential parking rights and access to infrastructure.
Benefits include wider parking spaces, reduced fees, etc.

📅 Availability:
Proposal presented in September 2023.
Discussions with the European Parliament underway.

👥 Impact:
Simplifies mutual recognition of disability status.
Enhances mobility.
Facilitates access to preferential treatments.

Today we are celebrating the International Day of Education! is a human right, which is why the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as International Education Day in 2018. In 2024, it will therefore take place on 24 January. This day of action, which was first celebrated in 2019, aims to recognise the role of education for and development and as a public good.
The United Nations also wants to use this day to draw attention to the fact that # equality is not possible as long as there is no equal opportunity for lifelong, high-quality education. The of the day is to break the cycle of poverty and provide equitable access to education for all people on earth.

Gelly Lampri, from the Connectus team explains: “Flexing our strength in unity, we break down barriers and kick Ableism to the curb! Activism against Ableism is not just a hashtag; it's a movement of resilience, inclusion, and unstoppable positivity. Let's roll over stereotypes and dance to the rhythm of acceptance!” 😊
