Invitation to participate in the renovation of the cell of the Holy Archangels in the Karoulia Desert on Mount Athos
The cell of the Holy Archangels in the Karoulia Desert on Mount Athos, with the help of God and the Most Holy Theotokos, is slowly beginning to regain its former glory.
After decades of being abandoned and left to decay, it was later inhabited by monks who were unable to begin its renovation, except that the previous resident, F. David, managed to restore the completely destroyed chapel.
Two years ago, F. Nifont, came to the cell and, finding it in a ruined state, with the help of God and pious brothers, launched an initiative to gradually restore it to its former glory.
Thanks to the financial assistance, as well as the concrete efforts of the brothers who volunteered to help with the work, the cell has begun to be renovated. So far, the damaged roof of the church has been repaired, a new canopy has been built, a new drinking water supply has been installed, the adaptation of the cave space into the future small dining room has begun, as well as the preparation of the terrain for the construction of the future monastic room.
The photographs show the former appearance of the cell from the time when two or three monks lived in it, then the condition in the period when no one lived in it for several decades, during which it was destroyed, as well as the current appearance and progress of the works, and finally an animation of the planned appearance of the cell with a balcony.

We sincerely hope that, to the glory of God, the Most Holy Theotokos and the Holy Archangels, this holy site will shine with its former glory in the near future.
