Master Class and International Opera Workshop

Deja vu?? It seems to happen almost every year. Two singers have secured conflicting jobs and are now unable to attend my Greek Master Class. August 29th - Sept. 6th. Therefore I am extending the application deadline to July 15th! If you are interested, please contact [email protected] for more detailed information and an application form. UPDATE: this year's Greek Master Class on the Island of Lesvos will begin August 29, 2019. The course will be limited to 12 active participants, passive participation is also possible. All active participants will have a minimum of 5-sessions of 45-minutes each, with Prof. Cheryl Studer and piano accompaniment ( Giannis Tsanakaliotis ), all on stage at the Municipal Theater in the capitol city of Mytilini, Lesvos. (International airport code: MJT) Vocal coach Michalis Doukakis completes the team. Sunday, September 1st, will be free day, when we will have our island excursion! The final concert will also take place on stage of the Municipal Theater on September 6th or 7th. (The exact date will be determined within the next weeks.)The minimum age for active participants is 22 years old, and the repertoire will be limited to opera arias and ensembles, and related repertoire. This will be an intense workshop, where we will focus on a healthy technique, understanding that technique and interpretation are one, economical and distinct articulation, chiaroschiuro, and the art of the breath! For the more advanced singers, we will add stage craft and audition training, where applicable. Applications and further information are available at: [email protected]. There have been several enquiries, so I would just like to ANNOUNCE that the Greek Master Class, July 24-August 4, 2017 on the beautiful island of Lesvos, will be my ONLY Master Class this summer!

Update: dates for the Greek Master Class 2017 will be July 24th-August 4th. Participation will be limited to 10 singers.
We will begin with sessions at 10am on stage at the Municipal Theater in Mytilini, island of Lesvos. July 30th will be a "free" day for our excursion to the west coast of the island. We will stay from July 30th in Eresos, where the final concert will take place! Eresos has a lovely beach, which we will enjoy often, since Master Class sessions will take place from 10am-2pm.
All singers will have a minimum of 5-sessions of 45 minutes each. Flights are still affordable, so if you are interested, please contact me asap at [email protected]. I will be happy to give you more detailed information, including accommodation possibilities. This Master Class will combine intensive sessions with more vacation and recreational opportunities than ever before! And the mayor guarantees us a great audience for the final concert in Eresos! Join us!!!

Due to other commitments, my annual Greek Master Class will begin already the end of July this year. Classes will be held, as in previous years, at the Municipal Theater in Mytilini on the island of Lesvos. However, the mayor has suggested we could have the final concert in the old castle!
