Project “Bo(m)bowa expedition - competence improvement, part two” – main activities

At the turn of September and October we had a pleasure to host students and teachers from Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych w Bobowej – one of our polish, partners schools. The came to Greece to take part in substantive workshops in cooperation with Greek peers. And at the end of the project, we have to admit that it was a great opportunity for all of them to improve their competences, skills and gain new, very useful knowledge.

The project “Bo(m)bowa expedition - competence improvement part two” assumed the implementation of foreign mobility during which students implement a program of substantive workshops related to the subject of the project, as well as an educational and cultural program involving participation in sightseeing tours and free time animations aimed at getting to know Greece and its historical heritage better. The mobility was preceded by the participation of polish students in preparatory training, which goal was to facilitate adaptation to a new place and more effective development.

Students from Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych w Bobowej had opportunity to see the best tourist attractions in north part of Greece – Meteora complex, Skiathos island, Thessaloniki, Platamonas Castle or Old Pantaleimonas are “must see” point for every tourist who arrive to Olympus Rivera. It was great supplement to program of substantive workshops related to the subject of the project

By having time together all students could not only learn from each other, but also develop positive attitudes, find out more about polish and Greek cultures, expand their horizons. After twelve days spent together some of them also became friends which is also very important result of the project.

From both schools’ point of view opportunity to cooperate was also important and crucial for future development. Exchanging ideas, experience and good practices let both school educational units draw some conclusion. They allow to increase level of educations, so it will influence also on other students, which couldn’t take part into this project.

Polish-Greek project “Bo(m)bowa expedition - competence improvement, part two”

In 2022 we were implementing european project „Bo(m)bowa wyprawa - kompetencji poprawa część druga” (ENG: Bo(m)bowa expedition - competence improvement, part two) in cooperation with Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych w Bobowej. Students from both schools had a chance to improve their key kompetences and skills durining transnational mobility in Greece.

The main objective of the project "Bo(m)bowa expedition - competence improvement" was to facilitate its participants' entry into the labor market by equipping them with new competences, skills, knowledge and experience, which will be confirmed by specific certificates and will distinguish them from their peers. Young people graduating from high school, contrary to appearances, do not have an easy start into adulthood. Even if they go and finish their studies, they often lack experience and specific skills. In many cases, even broad knowledge is not enough if it is not able to convert into specific professional effects and results.

The main theme of the project "Bo(m)bowa expedition - improving competences" was the situation of young people on the European labor market, analyzed through the prism of two different EU countries - Poland and Greece. These countries represent not only a different culture or economic situation, but also the so-called old and new Union. This division is, of course, conditioned by the period in which both countries joined the European structures. Currently, all EU countries are struggling with economic problems caused by the pandemic, so it was a very topical topic.

Carefully planned project activities, including mainly preparatory trainings, workshops carried out during mobility, as well as an educational and cultural program allowed students to develop comprehensively and comprehensively. They gained new skills, knowledge, experience and, above all, key competences. They were able to acquire new skills thanks to participation in workshops, which were conducted in an interactive form, forcing involvement and active participation in various activities. They were focused on developing specific results related to the subject of the project, so students used various tools (mainly electronic), which increased their knowledge and the ability to use them correctly. While creating these results, students had to search for information, analyze it and then process it, which allowed not only to develop skills and to increase knowledge in the field of the project, but also Polish and Greek culture.
