Inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo! 🎨🍎Today at kindergarten, our little artists explored the magical world of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, a famous Italian painter who lived during the Renaissance! He was known for his imaginative and playful portraits, created entirely out of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other objects from nature. Inspired by his masterpiece portraits, the children created their very own Arcimboldo-style artworks! Using cut-out pictures of delicious fruits and vegetables—like bananas for smiles, grapes for eyes, and colorful fruits for hair—they turned simple portraits into funny, creative, and unique masterpieces. It was a fantastic activity that combined art history, creativity, fine motor skills, and lots of fun! 🍇🍌🍐

Each child placed our magic frame over a body part, and the rest of the group had to guess what it was! A fun, interactive way to practice body vocabulary and complete the phrase: “This is my...” 🧠🖐️🦶

From India to DES: Learning Connects Us
What happens when educators from different corners of the world come together? Fresh ideas, thoughtful conversations and new possibilities!
We were delighted to welcome Dr Gunmeet Bindra and Ms Shalini Verma from Daly College, India, through the Round Square network.
From Kindergarten to High School, our guests explored life at DES, connected with our leadership team and spoke with our students about the philosophy that shapes our everyday learning.
Visits like these remind us how much we can learn from one another. Different perspectives open our minds, spark curiosity and bring our school communities closer.

From Sweden to DES, Beyond Borders!

Four days of shared learning, new friendships and Greek sunshine! We welcomed five students and two teachers from Sweden into our classrooms, our homes and our DES community.

Our host families made the experience personal, sharing everyday moments that turned an exchange visit into a real connection—across our Primary and Middle School. Interactive workshops and classroom activities sparked ideas around sustainability, inclusion, STEAM, and AI in education.

And between the learning? Laughter, beach time and memories made together!

Thank you to our wonderful host families and Swedish friends. Until we meet again!
