This week EULink with its Waves of Inclusion partners came together online for the 2nd project meeting of Waves of Inclusion project!

Trainers from Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji-IRSIE (Poland) and Asociatia Judeteana Sportul pentru Toti Suceava (Romania) joined EULink and Emeritus Professor Dimitra Koutsouki from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece) to prepare for the next phase of the project: the evaluation of the pilot program that combines water-based and mindfulness activities for Ukrainian refugee and local youth.

During the session, the consortium covered:
✅ The evaluation questionnaire and how it will be used
✅ How to collect data consistently and reliably across both countries
✅ How we protect participants' personal data, in line with GDPR

With two trainers from each partner organisation now fully briefed, we're ready for the next milestone: gathering participants' voices and measuring the real impact of the program on well-being, intercultural understanding, and belonging.

As the coordinator of the Waves of Inclusion project, EULink EULink is proud to share a glimpse into our 1st Transnational Meeting and the theoretical training on mindfulness and well-being led by Emeritus Professor Dimitra Koutsouki from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Mindfulness is an important part of the Waves of Inclusion Model, complementing water-based physical activities to support well-being, emotional resilience, self-awareness and social inclusion among Ukrainian refugee and local youth.
We are excited to see how these elements come together in the practical training and, ultimately, in activities that create meaningful opportunities for young people to connect, participate and thrive together.
Stay tuned for more updates from Waves of Inclusion and the development of our innovative model!

The Fencing without Barriers theoretical training sessions and the learning journey continues! EULink is proud to be part of this Erasmus+ Sport project that is co-funded by the European Commission!
Through this project the partnership aims to contribute to sports environment where no fencing athlete is left on the sidelines. On the 26th of July 2026, our partners ran a day of online training sessions, bringing coaches and trainees together to strengthen inclusive and adapted coaching practices in fencing.
The day covered four core areas. The first session focused on coaching athletes with physical disabilities and building strength and endurance. From there, the group moved into mixed training environments and how to build teamwork across diverse groups. Attention then turned to competition adaptations and preparing athletes psychologically for competitive settings. The final block centred on integrated coaching approaches, combining visual and physical adaptations in practice.
By the end of the day, trainees had gained practical tools to support athletes of every ability, and left better prepared to put inclusion into action.
The next round of sessions is on the 9th of August 2026, stay tuned!

Publishing on EPALE makes the project's results accessible to educators, youth workers, trainers, NGOs, and adult learning professionals across Europe. This helps ensure that the knowledge, tools, and good practices developed through the Waves of Inclusion can be used, adapted, and leveraged by organisations working to build more inclusive communities. Waves of Inclusion First Two Key Outputs Published!

We are excited to share that the first two key deliverables of the Waves of Inclusion (WoI) project, funded by the European Union, are now published: the Literature Review and the Practitioner Toolkit.

As the coordinator of the project, EULink is proud to work alongside our partners from Greece, Romania, and Poland on this Erasmus+ Sport initiative supporting the well-being and inclusion of Ukrainian refugee youth through innovative approaches combining water-based sports and mindfulness practices.

📘 The Literature Review that was prepared by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), specifically Emeritus Professor Dimitra Koutsouki, Sophia Charitou and Katerina Asonitou, in collaboration with EULink, explores the scientific evidence behind the project’s approach, focusing on how water-based physical activity and mindfulness can support emotional resilience and overall well-being.

🧰 The Practitioner Toolkit, also developed by the NKUA team in collaboration with EULink, is a practical resource that translates evidence into action, offering structured water-based sport activities, mindfulness exercises, facilitation guidance, and inclusive tools for trainers and youth workers.

Together, these outputs connect research with practice to support inclusive, wellbeing-focused work with young people.

🔜 What’s next?
The project’s first Transnational Project Meeting is coming up, including the Training of Trainers (25–27 June, Poland), where the partners will come together to prepare for the next phase of implementation with Ukrainian refugee and local youth in Romania and Poland by Asociatia Judeteana Sportul pentru Toti Suceava and Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji.
