In March, and more precisely on Sunday 15th February 2026 at 17:00 on Zoom ,we welcome a prominent figure of European ELT and an active IATEFL member and presenter Ms Kirsten Waechter
Kirsten's talk is entitled ''Making materials that matter: representing diversity in the ELT Classroom''. The EDI agenda is a prominent one both for IATEFL as well as its affiliates but teachers cannot promote inclusivity unless mindsets change and materials aid teachers in this endeavour. Join us in February to meet Kirsten and find out about how materials can help teachers create learning environments that feel comfortable to all.

A big thanks to George Kokolas and Thom Jones who made us think while laughing and laugh while thinking during their ELT debate. Our next event is on Sunday 7th December 2025 at 17:00 with Sinem Daridere. The title of the session is
"Let's tune into a Jazzy sense of Teacher Well-being.''
The writer has written about her session:
Creative strategies for balancing emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing in the classroom
What do rhythm, melody, and harmony have in common with teacher wellbeing? This session uses a jazz-inspired metaphor to reflect on the balance between emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. Moving from metaphor to practice, it introduces creative, low-prep strategies rooted in mindfulness, visual journaling, and simple classroom rituals. These techniques are designed to support both teacher and learner wellbeing in accessible, meaningful ways. Whether you're hoping to restore your own rhythm or cultivate harmony in the classroom, this session invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your jazzy sense of wellbeing.
