Math Bite of the Day: The Step and Its Derivatives

Ever thought about what happens when you differentiate a step? 🤔

The step function jumps suddenly from 0 to 1.

Its derivative is not a usual function, but the Dirac delta (δ) a spike at the point of the jump.
Take it further, and the second derivative is the derivative of δ, which captures how fast that spike "changes."

In simple terms:

Step = the jump.
Derivative = the moment of jumping.
Higher derivatives = how that "moment" itself behaves.
