✨ Great news from FIPADOC 2026!
The official selection for the upcoming International Pitches has just been announced.

This year, 289 documentary projects were submitted — and among the 24 selected, we are thrilled to see two projects developed at the MFI Doc Lab:

💥MFI AWARD 🎉 at the AGORA of Thessaloniki International Film Festival !
The MFI “George Kalogeropoulos” Script 2 Film Workshop Award, as part of the Crossroads Co-Production Forum awards, was presented to La Forma Animal, directed by Isa Luengo and Sofia Esteve (Spain).
Producers: Laura Rubirola (Nocturna Pictures), Carlotta Schiavon and Eva Murgui (Vayolet Films).

Award Statement:

“The scholarship goes to a project that imaginatively blends history, folklore, and personal narrative - exploring otherness, transformation, and political memory. For its insightful reworking of historical events through myth and fable, we proudly give the MFI – George Kalogeropoulos Award to La Forma Animal (Isa Luengo, Sofia Esteve).”

🌿 Green Film: a more sustainable approach to film production 🎬

Discover how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into film production through the experience of Green Film, a rating system and certification initiative that has grown into a pan-European network. In this session, we’ll explore practical actions that can reduce the environmental impact of a film project—from the early stages of scriptwriting to the final phase of production. Learn how Film Commissions and Film Funds across Europe are embracing this approach to foster greener practices in the audiovisual industry.

🎤 Speakers

Alberto Battocchi – Film Commissioner
Alberto Battocchi has been working at the Trentino Film Commission since 2016, where he is in charge of assisting film and television productions and developing the network of professionals and local companies in the audiovisual sector. He is also involved in the development and dissemination of Green Film.

Linnea Merzagora – Green Film Project Manager
Linnea Merzagora started her career in the audiovisual sector by working in documentary production, and as a producer she focused on developing environmental and social sustainability-related contents. Since 2021 she is project manager of Green Film, the initiative for fostering sustainability in audiovisual productions developed by Trentino Film Commission and now adopted by many other regional and national funds at European level.
