Intercomp

As part of the Teach4Integration program, we had the opportunity to present the INTERCOMP intercultural tools, designed to support educators in fostering inclusive and culturally responsive classrooms. The session sparked great interest among all participating educators, who were eager to explore innovative ways to enhance intercultural competencies in their teaching practices. Engaging discussions followed, with attendees sharing their experiences, asking insightful questions, and reflecting on how these tools could be implemented effectively in diverse educational settings. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the educators reinforced the importance of equipping teachers with practical resources to navigate multicultural learning environments. We are excited about the impact of this exchange and look forward to further collaborations that promote intercultural education!😀

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote intercultural education, we had the pleasure of presenting the INTERCOMP intercultural tools to postgraduate students and in-service educators.
This dissemination event provided an excellent opportunity to explore innovative strategies for fostering intercultural competencies in the classroom. During the session, participants engaged in discussions on the practical application of the tools and exchanged valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities of intercultural education. Their enthusiasm and interest highlighted the growing need for effective resources that support diversity and inclusion in education. We are grateful for the inspiring exchange of ideas and look forward to further collaborations that enhance the impact of our work!🦚

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε το Multiplie Event του Intercomp στο Αμφιθέατρο του ΤΕΦΑΑ Θεσσαλονίκης στη Θέρμη. Οι εισηγητές/τριες (Επίκουρη καθηγήτρια Δέσποινα Ούρδα, Καθηγητής Χαράλαμπος Τσορμπατζούδης, Καθηγητής Βασίλειος Μπαρκούκης και Υποψήφια Διδακτόρισσα Βιργινία Πολίτη) είχανε τη χαρά να συζητήσουν με τους παρευρισκόμενους όχι μόνο τα διαπολιτισμικά εργαλεία που έχουν δημιουργηθεί αλλά τις πολιτικές που είναι απαραίτητές για την εφαρμογή τους.

Ενδιαφέρουσες εισηγήσεις, μεγάλη συμμετοχή και ενδιαφέρον για τη διαπολιτισμική εκπαίδευση ήταν τα βασικά συστατικά της επιτυχίας του Συνέδριου του INTERCOMP που πραγματοποιήθηκε την Παρασκευή 15 Νοεμβρίου🌻. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά τους Διευθυντές της Πρωτοβάθμιας και Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης που χαιρέτησαν και παρακολούθησαν το Συνέδριο αλλά και όλους τους εκπαιδευτικούς για τη συμμετοχή τους!

Professor Vassilis Barkoukis had the opportunity to present in the framework of the Erasmus Building Futures programme the development of intercultural competence through the tools of the Intercomp programme. The participating countries were delighted to network on the results of the meeting.🙂

What would intercultural competence trainings be without the people you meet there?

On 30/9-5/10/2024, the INTERCOMP project team facilitated their previously developed educational course and invited European educators to reflect on and further develop their intercultural competencies. In addition to the formal training, attendees connected on a more personal level - talking about each other's cultures, dancing together, laughing, relaxing at the beach, going for dinner, exploring Thessaloniki...thank you again to all attendees for these wonderful connections and memories!

Have you heard about UNESCO Story Circles?

On 30/9-5/10/2024, the INTERCOMP project team facilitated their previously developed educational course and invited European educators to reflect on and further develop their intercultural competencies. Module 5 was presented by Virginia Politi and Anastasiia Zubareva including the facilitation of the method "UNESCO Story Circles".

"Often, there's just not enough time to solve conflicts in the way you'd like"

On 30/9-5/10/2024, the INTERCOMP project team facilitated their previously developed educational course and invited European educators to reflect on and further develop their intercultural competencies.

In Module 4,the team from the University of Limerick presented how intercultural competence can be put into practice and which challenges might arise on the way.

On 30/9-5/10/2024, the INTERCOMP project team facilitated their previously developed educational course and invited European educators to reflect on and further develop their intercultural competencies.

In Module 3, the team from ICSSPE (Germany) taught the group how physical movement and sports can be used to bridge cultural differences and bring people together. They also reflected on how power dynamics are reproduced in sports and how to be sensitive to students' differences while emphasising one's commonalities and group belonging. They also introduced activities that teachers of ALL subjects can use in their classes to activate their students.

In Module 2, the team from Bozen-Bolzano presented on theories about intercultural competencies and facilitated interactive games that teachers might use with their students, to foster their intercultural competencies and willigness to work together and be culturally sensitive with one another.
