UNVEILING OUR DISTINGUISHED GUEST SPEAKER FOR THE GAM-DIASPORA DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2.0

The Gam-Diaspora Debate Championship 2.0 proudly presents an exceptional scholar, diplomat, and transformational leader; Mr. Kemo Conteh.

A Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of the Gambia, Mr. Conteh is one of the institution’s most outstanding academic products, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a historic CGPA of 3.998; the highest ever recorded in the Political Science at the University of The Gambia.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing, and is a Best Diplomacy Award winner at the Beijing International Model United Nations. A multiple award-winning debater and public speaker, who also made history as the only President of the UTG Students’ Union elected through Absolute Majority, delivering landmark initiatives including the Faraba Banta Campus and the National Graduate Service Programme.

Gam-Diaspora Debate Finale 2.0: a week to Go

With just 7 days to go, wonderful Gam-Diaspora family, the Education Ministry of Gam-Ind proudly presents the long-awaited Finale of the Second Edition of the Gam-Diaspora Debate Championship, slated for 1st March 2026 at 14:00 GMT/19:30 IST

This grand finale promises a battle of ideas, a test of courage, and a remarkable showcase of diaspora excellence.

The question remains: Who will be crowned champions this year? Are you ready to witness history?

The Young Champion Debaters’ Association (YCDA) extends profound appreciation to all individuals, volunteers and partner institutions who contributed to the success of the community cleaning exercise held at Westfield.

We wish to particularly acknowledge and thank members of the public who turned up after receiving the information through our online platforms. Your swift response, sense of responsibility and willingness to serve the community demonstrate the power of information, youth engagement and collective action in addressing community challenges.

YCDA also expresses sincere gratitude to its partners, Kanifing Municipal Council, Kanifing Municipality Regional Scout, Daughters of Gambia and Ousainu Gambia, for their collaboration, technical support and active participation throughout the exercise. Your commitment greatly enhanced the effectiveness and impact of this initiative.

This activity represents a significant step in advancing YCDA’s advocacy mandate, particularly in promoting environmental consciousness, civic responsibility and community ownership. The success recorded further strengthens our resolve to continue implementing people-centered initiatives that respond to real community needs.

YCDA PARTNERS WITH KMC FOR COMMUNITY CLEANING EXERCISE

In line with its commitment to environmental protection and civic responsibility, the Young Champion Debaters’ Association (YCDA) has partnered with the Kanifing Municipal Council to organise a community-wide cleaning exercise.

The initiative calls on youths and residents to take collective action toward a cleaner and healthier environment.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment by YCDA and KMC to promote environmental consciousness and sustainable community practices.

YCDA ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY CLEANING EXERCISE

Dear Esteemed Members.,
The Young Champion Debaters Association (YCDA) is pleased to announce a community cleaning exercise aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and civic engagement among young people. The activity will take place on Saturday, 6th December, beginning at 9:00 AM.

The exercise will start from Westfield and proceed towards the Traffic Light area, targeting key public spaces in need of cleaning and sanitation. YCDA encourages all members, partners, and community volunteers to join this important initiative as part of our commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment.

This outreach effort reflects YCDA’s dedication to social responsibility beyond debate platforms, empowering young people to take meaningful action in their communities.
