*Career Guidance Session In John Pickering*
John Pickering Upper Basic and Senior Secondary School is set to host an insightful and educative career guidance session tomorrow, the *18th of April, 2026.* In partnership with Partnership in Employment, targeting 55 students.
The session will provide a unique one-on-one interaction between facilitators and students, creating an opportunity for constructive dialogue on career choices, personal development, and future pathways. It is designed to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed decisions about their academic and professional journeys.
This initiative reflects the schoolβs continued commitment to empowering students through practical guidance and meaningful engagement beyond the classroom.

Highlights of the 3rd Term day one

On the 28th of March 2026, khalipha Jobe Islamic club in John pickering upper and senior secondary school attended a quran competition and speech competition at Charles Jow memorial academy Senior School in Bundung.
Brother Gibril Yarboe, a grade 9A student emerged FIRST position in the quran competition involving 7 senior secondary schools namely (Charles Jow memorial academy, st Peter's senior secondary, Masroot senior secondary, Nusrat senior secondary school, Latrikunda upper and senior secondary school,st Augustin senior secondary school and John pickering upper and senior secondary school).
In the speech competition brother yunus Jobe came 2nd out of 7 schools.
A big congratulations to John pickering family and a special congratulations to the participants and their teacher coordinators.

The night was a success and thanks to the people of Tappa for giving energy and confidence to the French Club Team of John Pickering to the point Saidykhan and Madam Colley almost lost their legs on the ground to show their cultural dancing skills ππππ

This heartfelt reception set a perfect tone for their four-day visit, emphasizing the spirit of unionism and cultural exchange.

*French Club Visit to Tappa, Senegal*

On February 14, 2026, the French Club of John Pickering commenced an enriching four-day visit to Tappa, Senegal, specifically to the Tappa Basic Cycle School. This initiative aims to establish meaningful ties between our institutions while providing students with exposure to the cultural and historical richness of Tappa.
However, the team starts their outreach and site visits in the community of Jara Soma and Brikama Ba before reaching Tappa as the main destination.
*Objectives:*
1. *Cultural Exchange:* Foster friendships and engage in cultural sharing between students and faculty of both schools.
2. *Educational Exposure:* Allow students to explore key sites in the village, including:
- Local farmlands
- Radio stations
- Significant historical landmarks
- Interactions with village leaders for shared experiences
3. *Strengthening Partnerships:* Build a framework for sustained collaboration and communication between John Pickering and Tappa Basic Cycle School.
