FACES OF IMPACT — EXECUTIVE SPOTLIGHT

Every generation is shaped by leaders who choose purpose over comfort and people over praise.

For the Le-Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0, that light shone through two pillars of strength and love: Abdou S Hydara (Sultan), our Chairman, and Miss Haddy Kurbally, our Vice Chair, our Mommy.

Sultan was the STANDARD.
Warm and relatable outside the hall, firm and uncompromising within it, he led with heart but governed with principle. His insistence on punctuality, focus, and order was not anger—it was responsibility, love expressed through standards. Because of him, we valued our t-shirts, came on time, sat right, and took the mentorship seriously. He did not lead to be liked; he led to build leaders—and when a decision was final, it was final.

Aunty Haddy was the HEART that held us all.
Like a mother, she cared without being asked, loved without condition, and served without seeking recognition. Her presence brought comfort, her smile softened hearts, and her attention reminded every mentee they were seen. She noticed absences, worried deeply, reached out, and reassured—because to her, no one was invisible. Calm yet decisive, gentle yet firm, her leadership was rooted in care.

Together, this duo balanced discipline with compassion, structure with warmth, and vision with heart. Because of them, Le-Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0 stood tall—not just as a program, but as a home for growth, purpose, and future leaders.

We honor them not just for the roles they held, but for the impact they made. For the standards they upheld, the hearts they led with, and the hope they inspired. Because of Sultan and Aunty Haddy, the mentees felt guided, grounded, and growing—and the future of Le-Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0 is brighter, for they set the bar high.

Last Saturday marked the closing ceremony of Le Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0, and what a remarkable journey it has been.

150 mentees graduated, each leaving with more than a certificate. They leave with a bankable business plan, a sharpened entrepreneurial mindset, and the confidence to build solutions that respond to real challenges here in The Gambia.

This cohort raised the bar in every way. In discipline, ex*****on, growth, and impact, it stands as the strongest cohort we’ve ever produced, backed by the most committed and effective executive team in the history of the program.

Our deepest gratitude goes to our mentors, whose wisdom, patience, and lived experience shaped these ideas into viable ventures. We also sincerely thank our coordinators, executives, volunteers, partners, and all stakeholders who believed in the mission and gave their time, resources, and trust to make this possible.

To our graduates: you represent the future of entrepreneurship in The Gambia. This is the beginning of building, leading, and creating lasting impact.
