Dear Colleagues ,



It’s with great pleasure to write to you all in your different migration centres and returnees associations to kindly share this special call for application on the GIZ ECOWAS FRSD Value chain training application. It is of great interest to all of us as a project and stakeholders in providing services for our young people, women especially the returnees who are key in this project.



I urge you all to kindly share this message with your returnees in the respective project intervention regions of the project namely; GBA ,LRR and URR using the most effective means at your disposals (Whatsapp groups, emails, group meetings etc)



FRSD-The Gambia Pilot project is inviting Gambian youth, women and returning migrants between 16-35 years to apply for training opportunities on fishery, horticulture and poultry value chains. Prospective candidates will be given the chance to select courses in: Aquaculture (Fish) production and processing, Agro-food production and processing, poultry production and processing, Life skills and Entrepreneurship trainings.



Application dates are Thursday July 28, 2022, to Saturday August 13, 2022, Mondays to Saturdays from 8am-4pm



Applicants within the Greater Banjul Area can visit the following locations to fill the forms:

Department of Livestock Services, Abuko.

Banjul Fish Landing Site, Banjul.

Kanifing East Upper and Senior Secondary School.



Applicants within Lower River Region can visit the following locations to fill the forms:

Kiang Jattaba, Village bantaba.

Jarra Soma, Soma Scouts Skills Training Centre.

Jarra Bureng, Village Bantaba.



Applicants within Upper River Region can visit the following locations to fill the forms:

Basse Youth Centre, Basse.

Tumana Agency for Development (TAD), Tinkinjo village.

Taibatou, Village Bantaba



Applicants are required to bring:

National ID Card/Birth Certificate (Birth Certificates will be accepted from the applicants who are under the age of 18 at the time of application)
School Leaving certificates if available
Training Certificates if available.

Earlier Today, WCR Migrant Support Group had a home visit to one of the members. The discussions were fruitful and interactive. we drew our plan for the next 3 months.

An all-inclusive approach can help curb irregular migration

MIC-WCR in partnership with the Gambia college differently able association organised cleansing exercises at the Gambia college Brikama campus. Participants include both current and former members of the association, the RYC-WCR, students of the college, good deeds, together Gambia organisation just to a few. youth people play a key role in protecting our environment.

Thank you to IMO the Gambia, Brikama area council-BAC and the administration of Gambia college for supporting our activities.
