28 heritage managers from Africa (Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Rwanda, Egypt, Tunisia, Kenya) and from Asia ( Pakistan, Jordan, Nepal, Iran) have been trained on the principles and objectives of conservation and its methodology on our new “Introduction to the General Principles of Cultural Heritage Conservation” workshop that took place from 18 to 20 March 2022.
Participants developed four projects practicing the principles of cultural heritage conservation. They identified the conservation infrastructure of their projects and recognized the importance of interdisciplinarity for a holistic conservation approach.

Great news!
We are very happy to announce the publication of the book “Making Heritage Together: Archaeological Ethnography and Community Engagement with a Rural Community”, co-authored by Aris Anagnostopoulos, Vanghelis Kyriakidis and Lena Stefanou fresh off the press by Routledge Taylor & Francis. The project this book stems from is an archaeological research initiated in 2011 by Vanghelis aiming to investigate and publish the material from three Minoan peak sanctuaries in the wider area.

HerMaP Gambia update 📢
HERITΛGE delved into a Heritage Workforce Mapping exercise on the smiling coast of West Africa, The Gambia, by activating numerous local communities and developing strong relationships with institutional and individual stakeholders. We are proud to announce that the results are more than encouraging, since the engagement of stakeholders is vigorous and productive, and the development and implementation of the training program and curriculum are in progress aiming to create long-standing constructive outcomes for heritage in The Gambia.
