ALIEU BADARA JALLOW MEMORIAL UPPER & SENIOR SCHOOL HELDS IT’S ANNUAL INTER ETHNIC CULTURAL COMPETITION

Connecting the roots of culture to the modern realities of discoveries , ABJ hosts its annual inter ethnic competition on Thursday 23rd July,2026 at the school premises in Burfut .
The event was organised by the Arts club to celebrate diversity of culture,peaceful coexistence
of ethnicity while challenging students to study their origin.
In every challenge, there must be a champion among the best.The wollof Cultural group emerged with first position, securing 172 points followed by Mandinka group with 170 points, Fula with 164 points and Jolas 160 points. The Performance were assess based on four areas (Cultural Performance, Traditional Attire, Theme and Entertainment)

This shows how the Leadership of ABJ is committed to support and empower students in all aspects of knowledge: through classroom learning, sports, cultural display , in poetry among others.

In ABJ, we enrolled students, nurture them, transform them, test them and empower them to succeed in their respective careers.

ABJ wish to inform all parents & guardians that admission/ enrolment has commenced from Grade 7 to 11.
Over the years, the school has experienced significant improvements and development both in facilities and human capital.Our students are performing extremely well both in the internal and external examination.
The school envisions to uplift every child irrespective of their status as we unlock and nurture young potentials.

BYDA SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION 2026.

Brufut Youths Development Association (BYDA) has successfully conducted it annual inter schools competition on Saturday 25th April, 2026. The event brought together 7 primary schools,6 upper basic schools and 3 senior secondary schools students across Brufut to showcase academic excellence,critical thinking,and public speaking skills. Categories included Junior Schools Quiz, Senior schools debate, and Primary schools spelling bee. Speaking as the guest speaker Mr. Karamo B.Touray addressed the participants on subject of empowering youth voices through Knowledge.
In recognition of her students-AJB administration presented BYDA’s certificates to the students for their immense contribution during the competition.
This has shown the good work ABJ is doing to enhance the academic performance of students, exposure to extracurricular activities among others ,positioning the school as one of the best in The Gambia.

ABJ Parents–Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting:

This important stakeholders’ meeting brought together members of the School Board, administrators, teachers, and parents in a shared commitment to the growth and success of the school. It served as a valuable platform for open dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among all parties involved in the students’ education.

During the meeting, both the school administration and parents engaged in extensive and productive discussions on how to introduce and implement sound academic policies aimed at improving students’ performance. Key areas of focus included strengthening teaching and learning strategies, enhancing student discipline, and fostering a supportive learning environment both at school and at home.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and a collective resolve to work together in ensuring continuous academic improvement and overall student success.

AJB administration is calling on parents to consider enrolling their children at their school-rebranding the name and history of the school to a transformative school.
