BYDA SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION 2026.
Brufut Youths Development Association (BYDA) has successfully conducted it annual inter schools competition on Saturday 25th April, 2026. The event brought together 7 primary schools,6 upper basic schools and 3 senior secondary schools students across Brufut to showcase academic excellence,critical thinking,and public speaking skills. Categories included Junior Schools Quiz, Senior schools debate, and Primary schools spelling bee. Speaking as the guest speaker Mr. Karamo B.Touray addressed the participants on subject of empowering youth voices through Knowledge.
In recognition of her students-AJB administration presented BYDA’s certificates to the students for their immense contribution during the competition.
This has shown the good work ABJ is doing to enhance the academic performance of students, exposure to extracurricular activities among others ,positioning the school as one of the best in The Gambia.

ABJ Parents–Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting:
This important stakeholders’ meeting brought together members of the School Board, administrators, teachers, and parents in a shared commitment to the growth and success of the school. It served as a valuable platform for open dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among all parties involved in the students’ education.
During the meeting, both the school administration and parents engaged in extensive and productive discussions on how to introduce and implement sound academic policies aimed at improving students’ performance. Key areas of focus included strengthening teaching and learning strategies, enhancing student discipline, and fostering a supportive learning environment both at school and at home.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and a collective resolve to work together in ensuring continuous academic improvement and overall student success.
AJB administration is calling on parents to consider enrolling their children at their school-rebranding the name and history of the school to a transformative school.

ABJ Grade 9 students showcased outstanding craftsmanship in their practical handwork for the GABEC examinations. This remarkable achievement was made possible under the dynamic leadership of Ms. Benice and Mr. Jatta.
Both teachers went above and beyond, dedicating their valuable time and staying late at school to ensure their students completed their work on schedule.

ARTS CLUB OF ALIEU BADARA UPPER AND SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, IN COLLABORATION WITH ABJ EX-STUDENTS, HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CAPACITY-BUILDING TRAINING
In a captivating setting, the ABJ Arts Club, in collaboration with the school’s ex-students, organized a two-day extracurricular activity. The program commenced with a day-long capacity-building training under the theme “Empowering Ongoing Students.”featuring grand poetry, drama, music performances, and sporting activities on the second day.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, ABJ Vice Principal, Mr. Babucarr Touray, expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers of the event and underscored the importance of nurturing young minds for a progressive future society. He encouraged students to remain focused and further develop their talents in order to stand out among their peers.
Addressing the students on Pan-Africanism, Honorable Ebrima H. Secka highlighted the need to inculcate the spirit of Pan-Africanism and nationalism in students as future leaders of the continent. He delved into the history of African elites who fought to liberate the continent from colonial oppression. Mr. Secka challenged students to remain committed in their pursuit of the requisite knowledge needed to develop Africa.
Known for his charismatic leadership, Mr. Foday Jabai engaged the students on the subject of patriotism and personal development. He outlined the ethical considerations, values, and way of life that students must adopt to succeed in their careers. He noted that none of the advanced countries in the world developed without first shaping and preparing their younger generations.
Also among the facilitators was Babucarr Gaye, who spoke on empowering students through writing as a tool for communication. He emphasized that writing is a powerful art that every student should embrace and practice.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Bah, a former Vice Principal of ABJ School, urged students to utilize and share the knowledge gained with the wider community, serving as ambassadors of change and transformation in their respective communities.

Mr. Ceesay , head of Abj sports department encouraged students to continue demonstrating resilience and focus to improve their skills.
