The Institute of Bankers of The Gambia (IBG), in collaboration with the Financial Reporting Oversight Board (FROB), recently conducted a two-day intensive training on key International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), focusing on:

IAS 8 – Accounting Policies, Changes in Accounting Estimates and Errors

IAS 10 – Events After the Reporting Period

IAS 37 – Provisions, Contingent Liabilities, and Contingent Assets

IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers

This training brought together finance professionals from across the banking and financial services sector, aiming to enhance transparency, accuracy, and compliance in financial reporting.

Participants engaged in practical case studies, interactive discussions, and expert-led sessions designed to deepen their understanding of IFRS and its real-world application.

The Institute of Bankers of The Gambia organized its third annual seminar for chartered bankers and senior managers on the topic of "Leadership Excellence in Financial Services Delivery." The seminar took place from October 15th to 16th, 2024, at the Metzy Residence Hotel.

The Institute of the Bankers of The Gambia in collaboration with the Financial Reporting Oversight Board (FORB) organized a two-day training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS16). The training took place on Friday 27th & Saturday 28th October,2023 at Metzy Residence Hotel. The aim of this training is to further enhance participants in-depth understanding of the standard's principles, requirements and practical implication for both lessees and lessors and improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
