Earlier last month, our cadets had the chance to visit the Royal Navy’s sole ice-breaker, HMS Protector, at HM Naval Base Gibraltar. ⚓
This is just one of the examples of ship visits which are arranged for our students, which offer the chance to significantly enhance their learning experience by visiting the bridge and engine room of the vessel, bridging the gap between the classroom and an operational career.
The University of Gibraltar would like to thank the Royal Navy for their support on this occasion.

Thanks to Peninsula 360 for providing our Year 1 cadets with the opportunity to visit their newly acquired bunker barge, MT Hercules Sky.
This provided the cadets with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge on the operational aspect of working on board a vessel, with deck and engineering students spending a number of hours on the bridge and engine room respectively. In addition, this is essential for their sea-time placement preparations, which the BSc Maritime Science and Cadetship programme proudly offers.

Many thanks to MSA Gibraltar instructors Stuart Warters and Sam Kelly for the fantastic job in training the delegates the importance of working as a team to combat any fire situation on board!
