2020/2021 SANDWICH ADMISSIONS

The Faculty of Education of the UNIVERSITY FOR DEVELOPMENT STUDIES (UDS) is admitting suitable Candidates into SANDWICH, DIPLOMA and POST-DIPLOMA in EDUCATION programmes for the 2020/2021 Session at its affiliate institution, ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, YENDI
The application forms for the SANDWICH PROGRAMMES at the ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, YENDI CENTRE are available online at www.uds.edu.gh from Monday, 20th January, 2020 for interested applicants.
SANDWICH PROGRAMMES
• Certificate in Early Childhood
• Diploma in Education
• Bachelor of Education in Early Grade, Upper Grade and JHS Specialisms
• Post-Diploma in Basic Education

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
DIRECT ENTRY
A. Qualifications for the Certificate Programme: A minimum of Middle School Leaving Certificate, O’ Level or SHS .
Applicants for Certificate in Early GRADE Education must have at least One Pass (D7) or Two Passes (D7) in any subjects at the WASSCE Level. Candidates must also pass a Selection Interview. Programme duration: 2 sandwich sessions (two long vacation periods of 8 weeks each).
B. For entry into the Post-Diploma Degree or Top-up programmes to earn a Bachelor Degree in Early Grade Specialism, Upper Grade Specialism and Junior High School Specialism, the applicant must hold a Diploma in either Basic Education or Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution.

C. For entry into the Diploma in Early Grade, Upper Grade and Junior High School Specialisms, one must have three credit passes in the area of specialization -Elective subjects- and Passes (D7 or better) in English Language and Mathematics in WASSCE.

MATURE CANDIDATES
i. Applicants must have BECE certificate or its equivalent and have evidence of working in an Early Grade setting for at least 3years or have Social Welfare Training Certificate.
ii. Applicants must be 25 years and above (documentary proof must have been acquired at least two year before the day of application).
iii. All applicants in category (ii) will be required to pass an entrance examination and selection interview.

NOTE: A sandwich session is eight (8 weeks). From July to September, 2020

ADMISSION FEES
• 1-Year Certificate Programme is GH₵ 1,550 (Feeding and accommodation inclusive) for First Session, July to September, 2020
• 2-Year Bachelor of Education is GH₵ 1, 990.00 (Feeding and accommodation inclusive) for First Session, July to September, 2020
• 3-Year Diploma in Education is GH₵ 1, 940.00 (Feeding and accommodation inclusive) for First Session, July to September, 2020

MODE OF APPLICATION
I. Make a payment of GH¢ 180.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Ghana Cedis) for the UDS E-Voucher at any GCB Bank, Prudential Bank, Zenith Bank, Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Stanbic Bank National Investment Bank (NIB) and Ecobank branches throughout the country.
II. The E-Voucher contains the PIN, and Serial Number required for the completion of the online form.
III. Access the online form by visiting UDS online admissions portal at uds.edu.gh soon after payment.
IV. In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their most recent passport size photographs with white background and relevant certificates. Applicants who use objects instead of their own photographs would be disqualified.
V. Applicants are advised to check thoroughly all details entered before finally submitting their online applications. A form, once submitted, can only be viewed, but cannot be edited.

VI. Applicants must print out application summary; attach results slips, certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be submitted in triplicates (three copies each) to the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs Section) UDS.
VII. Candidates are strongly advised to visit any EMS Office in the Country for assistance towards the return of the application documents (see viii). Applicants are advised not to post the forms themselves. They should seek the advice and services of Ghana Post EMS.

VIII. A completed form will not be considered for admission unless it is SUBMITTED after accepting our data confirmation policy
