Technology...

Technology has many definitions. 1. The totality of the means employed by people to provide material objects for human substance and comfort.
2. The purposeful uses of man's knowledge of materials, sources of energy and natural phenomena. Etc.
We can technology as the product of science. For example, technology refers to the application of techniques involving biological process to improve upon the production of materials that are useful to man.

Examples of Technology...

1. Food technology...
The use of scientific ideas and methods for processing and preserving food.
2. Information Technology...
The use of computers to process information, i.e communication or transmission. By the use of electronic mail (email), fax, International Direct Dialing (IDD) and internet.
3. Biotechnology...
Use of biological principles particularly the use of microorganisms, enzymology and genetic engineering to produce materials for human consumption.

Simply, science is 'know-why' while technology is 'know-how' science and technology depend on each other.

Applied Science.....
It is the use of knowledge from pure science to solve problems in our daily lives. Example are;

Agriculture=the study of cultivation of crops.
Geology=the study of the origin, structure, and composition of the earth.
Astronomy=concerns itself with the study of stars.
Meteorology=the study od physical phenomena and the processes taking place in the atmosphere and their interactions with forces on earth.
Engeneering= the study of machanisms.
Biochemistrt=it incorporates the science of biology and chemistry into unit.
Biotechnology=the devolopment and application of techniques involving biological process to improve the production of materials useful to man.

It is concerned with forces that exist between objwcts and their interrelationship between matter and energy. There are so many branches of physics. These include atomic, electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, sound and astronomy.

Pure science....

Biology.
The science of living things. It is the study of characteristics, classification and behaviour of living organisms as well as how they evolved and their interaction with one another in their physical and natural environment.
Biology is devided into three main branches: botany, the study of plants, zoology, the study of animals and microbiology, the study of microorganisms and their effect on the environment.
Bio mean life, logo(logy) means study. i.e, biology=life study.
