Dear President John Dramani Mahama,
As you appoint competent individuals to head government institutions, please consider Mr. Sam Kwesi Fletcher, the venerable man from Gomoa-West.
During the era of Dumsor, he was one of the staunch defenders of your government. Without relenting, he stood toe to toe with NPP communicators as they attacked your administration during the unstable power supply.
In 2017, shortly after the NDC lost power to the NPP, Samuel Fletcher's position as the Head of Corporate Communications at the VRA was revoked. It is believed that this was due to his strong advocacy and ties to the NDC.
Despite the challenges he faced, he did not relent. He adopted and sponsored branches, supporting constituencies in the Central and Western Regions during the 2020 and 2024 elections.
He was a former parliamentary candidate in the Central Region, Gomoa West constituency in 2016, while serving as:
- Vice Chairman, Central Regional Communications Committee (2015)
- Member, Central Regional Greater Accra Caucus
- Member, Resource Mobilization Foundation
- Member, Central Regional Finance Committee
- Chairman, Gomoa West Fundraising Committee
- Member, Business Development and Entrepreneurship Subcommittee of the 2024 Manifesto Committee (The Lab)
- Chairman, Working Committee, NDC Traders and Artisans’ Network, Central Region
While we do not expect that he be appointed solely based on his sacrifices for the party, the vacant CEO position at VRA deserves him. He has a solid educational background coupled with his experience in the field, projecting him as a competent leader.
The appointment of Mr. Fletcher as CEO of VRA will be a strong testament that sacrifices for the party are valued. He is a grassroots person whose personality resonates with the grassroots.
Please appoint Samuel Fletcher.
Best regards,
TEIN-CR Deputy Coordinator
