Following the directive from the President, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo that the various Technical Universities should reopen on 24th August, 2020 the Academic Board held an Emergency meeting on 19th August, 2020 to revise the Academic Calendar for the 2019/2020 Academic year.

The revised Academic Calendar is as follows:
Commencement of Lectures : 24th August, 2020
Revision: 28th September to 2nd October, 2020
End of Semester Exams: 5th October to 16th October, 2020.

All students will be provided with personal protective equipment. Students are to note that there will be no mass gathering and sporting activities during this period.

We wish to assure staff and junior members that all the necessary COVID-19 protocols will be enforced.

We wish all final year students the very best of Luck in their end of semester examinations, scheduled to commence on Monday 27th July, 2020 . May all of you exceed your expectations in this examinations. May the Almighty guide and guard you during this examinations period and beyond. Please, shun all forms of examinations malpractices.

Rejoinder: COVID -19: PharmSaG -Wa Polytechnic Declares Alternatives as Possible cure for Coronovirus

We write to respond to the above news item published by Upperwestmedia.net, on 19th March, 2020.

Management wishes to unequivocally state that, the Polytechnic and the Pharmaceutical Science Department has not sanctioned any research to find a cure to Corona virus. The Pharmaceutical Science Students Association of Ghana, Wa Polytechnic chapter is equally shocked about the story circulating on social media.

The Pharmaceutical Science Department of Wa Polytechnic however, has the capacity to produce affordable hand sanitizers.

In line with the directive of the President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Polytechnic was closed down on 16th March,2020. All lectures, clinicals, practicals and gatherings on campus have since been suspended.

Whilst we entreat the general public to disregard the story, we are humbly requesting Upperwestmedia.net to do the needful by retracting the story.

It is our fervent hope that subsequently, Upperwestmedia.net will cross check from the Polytechnic before going ahead to publish stories relating to the Polytechnic, in line with best practices.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF POLYTECHNIC

In accordance with the directive of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Polytechnic Community and the general public is hereby informed that the Polytechnic is temporary closed down effective 16th March, 2020.

Lectures, examinations, clinicals and all gatherings on campus are suspended with immediate effect.

Staff and Junior members are advised to take the necessary preventive measures during this period.

DONATION OF TWO PROJECTORS

An alumnus of Wa Polytechnic, Mr. Nienu Joseph, as part of efforts to enhance teaching and learning at the Polytechnic, has donated two NEC Projectors to the Department of Secretaryship and Management Studies.
