The masculine Arabic numerals fro one to ten are as follows :

وَاحِدٌ - one

اِثْنَان - two

ثَلَاثٌ - three

أَرْبَعٌ - four

خَمْسٌ - five

سِتٌّ - six

سَبْعٌ - seven

ثَمَانٍ - eight

تِسْعٌ - nine

عَشَرٌ - ten

The feminine forms are as follows :

وَاحِدَةٌ - one

إِثْنَتَانِ - two

ثَلَاثَةٌ - three

أَرْبَعَةٌ - four

خَمْسَةٌ - five

سِتَّةٌ - six

ثَمَانِيَةٌ - eight

تِسْعَةٌ - nine

For the numbers (وَاحِدٌ and وَاحِدَةٌ ), the item being numbered is cited before the number. Examples:

كِتَابٌ وَاحِدٌ - one book

كِتَابَانِ اثْنَانِ - two books

For numbers from ( 3 - 10 ), the number disagrees with the numbered in gender and the numbered is always plural with two "kasrahs". Examples:

ثَلَاثةُ كُتُبٍ - three books

أَرْبَعَةُ أََقْلَامٍ - four pens

خَمْسَةُ بَنَاتٍ - five girls

سَبْعَةُ سُفُنٍ - seven ships

تِسْعَةُ بُيُوتٍ - nine houses

Question : How should a menstruating woman begin her prayer?

Answer : Praise be to Allah.

If a women ends her menstruation, how she starts her prayer to a great extent depepends on the particular time the menstruation ends.

If she ends the menstruation at the time of "asir" prayer of which the time of the prayer has not elapsed, she prays "asir" and "zuhur" beginning with "zuhur" since the "shariah" allows for combining two prayers at one time under certain circumstances such as sickness. In this regard, the "shariah" treats her like a sick person.

If she ends the menstruation at the time of "ishaa" prayer, in the same vein, she prays "ishaa" and "maghrib" beginning with "maghrib".

But if she ends the menstruation at the time of "fajr" prayer, she prays "fajr" alone since "fajr" prayer is not combined with the prayer preceding it.
If she ends at the time of "zuhur", she prays "zuhur" alone since "zuhur" is not combined with the prayer preceding it.
If she ends at the time of "maghrib", she prays "maghrib" alone since "maghrib" is not combined with the prayer preceding it.

Question : Salamu alaikum shaikh, should a woman always recite silently when praying?

Answer : Praise be to Allah.

There is no difference between a man's prayer and that of a woman. Hence, a woman should recite vocally in prayers where recitation is made vocally such as "ishaa" prayer, and silently where recitation is made silent such as "zuhur" prayer.

In the hadith of Malik bun Huwairith which was recorded by Bukhari, Prophet Muhammad said: Pray as you see me praying.
The command here encompasses men and woman.

There is no hadith to justify that a woman's voice is "awrah",hence she should always recite silently. However, the "sharee'ah" frowns upon a woman talking in a melodious voice to lure men into fornication.

May Allah increase us in faith.
