SRC Spirit Week. Vibes on 100 🔥
From stepping into our favourite characters, to pulling up with “anything but a bag” (the creativity?? 😭), to repping our teams and countries on Jersey Day, we really showed out. Throwback Thursday had us travelling through time, and Pair-Up day brought everyone together, students and staff included.

Different days, different themes… but one thing stayed the same: pure school spirit.

We are proud to see our students, Efua Addison and Gareth Obeng-Kenzo, featured on Channel One TV News, sharing their experiences in the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge.

As part of the Lunal-Azul Team, Efua and Gareth led a project focused on inclusive education, demonstrating how student-led initiatives can create meaningful change within communities. In the interview, they reflect on their journey through the competition, the inspiration behind their project, and its impact.

Ideas brought to life!
Today, our MYP5 Class of 2026 proudly presented their Personal Project Exhibition, a major milestone in their Middle Years Programme (MYP) journey.

From sustainable gardening and an electronic, solar-powered model car to wearable art inspired by mathematics, 3D architectural models, and environmental-awareness games, students transformed their ideas into meaningful creations.

More than a showcase of products, the exhibition highlighted their growth in research, creativity, organisation, communication, and critical thinking, key skills that will guide them far beyond the classroom.

Thank you to the parents, staff, and students who came to support and celebrate this inspiring moment, as well as our dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff who guided and supported the MYP5 students every step of the way.

HGIC Fusion in motion!
From a vibrant 5.7 km Sponsored Walk organised by the DP1 Class of 2027 under the RHEA Initiative, to a delightful Principal’s Brunch and a lively Band Concert, the day truly brought our community together.

Guided by the theme “Restoring Comfort, Dignity, and Hope,” the walk aimed to raise funds to support maternal and newborn healthcare at a maternity ward in the Tema Municipality. The walk was filled with energy and enthusiasm, with the uplifting sounds of the brass band at every step. A sincere thank you to the Tema Police, our staff, students, parents, alumni, and the wider school community who helped make the day both meaningful and memorable.

Congratulations to the Class of 2027 for organising such a meaningful initiative, and thank you to everyone who came out to support this important cause.

We are proud of our students who are currently representing our school at the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) 26 Conference in New York. They are performing exceptionally well, and we wish them the very best as they continue their discussions and diplomacy on the global stage.

Throwback to the Sankofa Arts Festival 2025.

153 days later, we are excited to share the official documentary capturing the spirit of this unforgettable festival. Hosted by SOS-HGIC and led by Jo Lee, the maiden Sankofa Arts Festival brought together six schools across Ghana and our partner school in Germany for a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and collaboration.

Inspired by the Nkyinkyim Museum, students brought the Sankofa philosophy to life through powerful performances, inspiring artworks, and moving creative showcases.

A sweet throwback to our National Day Celebration on Saturday. It was a moment to showcase the rich cultures of over 14 nationalities represented and celebrated at SOS-HGIC, turning our campus into a vibrant display of culture, diversity, and unity.

Our students started the day by preparing traditional dishes from their countries, taking us on a culinary journey from East, West and Southern Africa to the USA, the UK, and beyond. From mouth-watering delicacies to colourful traditional attire, the richness of our diverse community was on full display.

Through cultural dances, poetry, and skits, our students proudly shared stories and traditions of their nations—a true reflection of our Pan-African spirit.

At SOS-HGIC, we do not just learn about cultures, we live them.
