NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM TAHIRU MOHAMMED MURTALA, SRC PRESIDENT OF TAMALE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

The year hasn't been an easy one. It was couple with uncertainties. A pandemic that ravaged the whole world bringing it ( the world), to a standstill. That not withstanding, we have made great strides despite all these predicament. We have completed our online session of studies successfully despite it being our first time. There were challenges associated with it, yet we made a great move on that. Indeed, there is much to be grateful to the Almighty for how far he has brought us.

On behalf of the executive board of the SRC and Management of our college (TACE), I want to wish us all a happy and a prosperous New Year. May the great strides we have made in last year (2020) be the beginning of our success story by the grace of the Almighty.

Tahiru Mohammed Murtala, SRC President of Tamale College of Education scribes;

Best wishes to level hundred students of Colleges of Education affiliated to KNUST, especially students of Tamale College of Education as they are set to commence their end of semester examination today. Indeed, you have come a long way. The journey has been a tiresome one, considering the medium through which the tuition or learning took place ( technological means) rather than the usual face to face interaction. I share in your sentiments as well.

Despite all that, I am confident, enthusiastic and can state it without any fear of conviction or unequivocally, that the successes that you have chalked over the past few years leading to you reaching this level will replicate itself.

I admonish all to follow the guidelines outlined for the examination as stipulated earlier, so as not to be penalised for any sort of irregularities.

Once again, best wishes to you all and may the good Lord be with you.

THE STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
TAMALE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TACE)
Date:25/04/2020
*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*

*Official Reopening of School*
The Executive Board of the Students Representative Council (SRC) for the Tamale College of Education (TACE) wishes to inform all students that, *the official reopening date for colleges of education* according to the NCTE is on Monday April 27, 2020.
We have been informed that the college intends to use Google Classroom as means of interacting with students. However, various learning sites will be available for use by students by our affiliate universities i.e UCC and KNUST. NCTE and T-TEL also intend to roll out a learning site known as *Microsite* for use by all students in the Colleges of Education in Ghana, which will be zero rated. Updates on how to use the microsite will be made available once it is rolled out.
Additionally, all level 100s have been registered automatically for the semester by KNUST. And for the level 200s the College has been asked by UCC to register everyone. So far, an appreciable number has been registered. The rest have some problems, but management of the college is working to address that in order to register everyone.
We therefore, expect students to go by the directive of the NCTE, T-TEL, PRINCOF, and TTAG regarding the registration and joining of the Virtual learning platforms made available by management of our college and our affiliate Universities (UCC and KNUST).
We also encourage students to stay calm as TTAG and members of our various local Executives are aware of the challenges that may arise due to the online learning, however, efforts are been made to, if not addressed it completely, but minimize it.
Again, we encourage students who can pay their examination fees to do that on time to avoid delays in releasing their results.
*Once again, SRC is there and monitors what goes on, both locally and nationally concerning the Online lectures* and will work to ensure that, students interest are taking into consideration.
*SRC works for your interest.*
Thank you.
