✨ GIRLS IN TECH TRAINING - EMPOWERING THE FUTURE OF STEM ✨
We are proud to share highlights from the recently concluded Girls in Tech training, organized by UNESCO in partnership with the Ghana Education Service. This impactful initiative brought together 60 talented girls from Tamale Senior High School, Tamale Girls Senior High School, and Northern School of Business Senior High School for an intensive STEM experience.
Tamale Senior High School proudly presented 20 students, who were accommodated throughout the training from 12th to 18th April. Participants were introduced to practical STEM skills, including Arduino programming and robotics, equipping them with hands-on knowledge and innovation-driven thinking.
Our students distinguished themselves through their courage, active participation, and excellence across all activities. Some served as co-hosts, others presented reports on the training, and one delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. In recognition of their outstanding performance, the students were awarded certificates, marking their successful participation in the program.
A special appreciation goes to our Headmaster, Mr. Yakubu Mohammed Mustapha, whose presence throughout the entire program was deeply motivating. He had the honor of presenting two trophies to the Tamale Senior High School girls, celebrating their remarkable achievements.
We also acknowledge the dedication of our Robotics Coordinators:
• Mr. Abdul-Razak Abdul-Rahaman
• Mr. Abdul-Karim Abdul-Aziz
and the committed Teaching Interns at the ICT department, Mohammed Nurudeen, who stayed with and guided the students from start to finish.
With the continued guidance of these coordinators, students are expected to put their newly acquired skills into practice, advancing STEM learning within the school.
🙏 Call to Action:
We humbly appeal to OTA and all stakeholders to support our efforts by providing us with Internet facility and laptops to enhance teaching and learning in our STEM Lab. This support will significantly help sustain and expand the impact of this training.
This experience was more than just training - it was a transformational journey of learning, innovation, and empowerment.
🚀 The future is bright, and our girls are ready to lead in STEM!
