A snake bite is a medical emergency, and the only real treatment is antivenom given in a hospital.
That said, what you do immediately can save a life 👇
What to do IMMEDIATELY after a snake bite
1.Get to a hospital FAST 🏥
Time matters. Antivenom is the cure.
2.Keep the person calm and still
Movement spreads venom faster through the blood.
3.Immobilize the bitten limb
Keep it below heart level if possible.
4.Remove rings, bracelets, or tight clothing (swelling happens fast).
5.Clean gently with water (if available)
Don’t scrub.
What NOT to do (very important)
❌ Do NOT suck the venom
❌ Do NOT cut the wound
❌ Do NOT use a tourniquet
❌ Do NOT apply herbs, chemicals, black stone, electric shock, or ice
❌ Do NOT drink alcohol or take painkillers like aspirin
These things worsen damage or delay proper treatment.
Reality check
Traditional remedies do not neutralize venom
Many deaths happen because people delay hospital treatment
Even if the bite looks small, venom can still be deadly
Bottom line
⚠️ No instant remedy. Antivenom is the only cure.
First aid is just to buy time, not to treat the poison.
