“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.

NOTE:
Temptation is a snear the devil uses to lieur his victims into his trap for shame, disgrace, and eventual destruction.

Prayer is a channel by which God uses to keep us aware of the devil's ensnearment and to keep one safe and secure from sin the ultimate plan of Satan.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: ...

Lead us not into temptation. What does this mean?

God tempts no one. We pray in this petition that God would guard and keep us so that the devil, the world, and our sinful nature may not deceive us or mislead us into false belief, despair, and other great shame and vice.
