Mostly crashes occur more frequently during Christmas and Easter festivities but critically speaking in the last 2 years it’s becoming a weekly occurrences.
As the Christmas is drawing nearer more clashes are expected to hit the roads unless drivers do the needful by working on their attitudes and behaviors on the roads. Changing of attitude and behavior is not one stop issue but continuous and must be done through education and training. The type of education and training that can help reduce clashes after graduating from defensive driver training is the DRIVING MANAGEMENT SCIENCE (DMS) PROGRAM. We will talk more on DMS sooner or later.
For this Christmas, if it’s not an emergency please don’t travel! This is a short term measure!
As a long term measure, all drivers being it commercial, corporate, personal and self drives must be made to undertake a voluntary or mandatory DMS training programs at least once in a year. That is the surest sustainable road safety way to go the arrest the menace on the roads.

Road crashes deaths and injuries in Ghana has been rising in the last 20 years. 2021 is topping the annual counts of deaths and injuries on Ghanaian roads since 1990. Not Surprising, the deaths from the use of motor bikes on our roads has exceeded deaths from all categories of road vehicles used in Ghana. It may interest you to note that the vulnerable persons are mostly the victims- the breadwinners, the husbands, the poor, etc This situation is unacceptable
