MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT AND DISTRICT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, SEKYERE KUMAWU, VISIT ALL BECE CENTRES IN THE DISTRICT.

Yesterday, 16th June,2025,the Member of Parliament for Sekyere Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, together with the District Director of Education, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu embarked on a comprehensive tour to all the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres across the Sekyere Kumawu District.

The visit was aimed at monitoring the smooth conduct of the 2025 BECE and offering motivation to the candidates writing the exams. The team visited centres including TKSHS Centre, Banko Centre, Besoro Centre, Bodomase Centre, Dadease Centre, engaging with students, supervisors, and invigilators

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim(MP) encouraged the candidates to remain calm and confident, emphasizing that the examination was an important milestone in their academic journey. He expressed optimism that the students would perform excellently, citing the quality of teaching and learning in the district.

Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, the District Director of Education, also took the opportunity to remind candidates of the importance of discipline and honesty during the exams. He assured them that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has put in place all necessary measures to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.

The MP and the Director of Education were accompanied by officials from the District Education Office and some assembly members. The team expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness at all the centres and commended the staff for their commitment to upholding academic integrity.

The visit brought smiles and renewed confidence to many students, who welcomed the encouragement and support from their leaders as they tackle this critical stage in their education.

MONITORING VISIT TO BECE CENTRES IN SEKYERE KUMAWU DISTRICT.
Today Wednesday, 11th June,2025 the District Director of Education together with the District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, District Police Commander and other officials undertook a joint monitoring visit to all BECE centres in the Sekyere Kumawu District.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the conduct of the ongoing examination, encourage the candidates, and ensure that the necessary security arrangements were in place. During the visit, the team interacted with candidates, invigilators, and supervisors, offering words of motivation and emphasizing the importance of discipline and hard work.

A total of 1427 candidates are writing the 2025 BECE in the Sekyere Kumawu District of which 737 are boys and 690 are girls.

The team expressed overall satisfaction with the smooth and peaceful conduct of the examination across all centres and reassured their commitment to supporting quality education in the district.

Sekyere Kumawu District Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBs) Delegates Conference and Election of New Executives.

The Conference of Heads of Basic Schools Delegates Conference was held on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025,at Kumawu Presbyterian Church Auditorium, bringing together headteachers from across the district to discuss key issues in basic education.

The conference focused on strengthening leadership, improving teaching standards, and addressing challenges in school administration. It also served as a platform for networking and sharing best practices among school heads.

A key highlight of the event was the election of new district executives. Delegates participated in a peaceful and democratic process to choose new leaders who will serve the association for the next term. The newly elected executives include:

Emmanuel Osei Acheampong – Secretary

Asansor Kwasi – Assistant Secretary

Janet Akua Boatemaa – Treasurer

The Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate has celebrated the National Professional Development Day (CPD Day) with the PLC training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being of Teachers.
