As a Muslim, my heart bleeds when I see innocent children and women dying in Gaza. What hurts even more is seeing many Africans, especially Christians, supporting Israel without questioning what is happening.

For years we have been taught that Israel is the center of Christianity, and Western media has shaped how many people think about this conflict. But no religion teaches us to support injustice or ignore the suffering of innocent people.

Humanity should come before politics, media narratives, or religious bias. When innocent lives are being lost, we must speak for justice.

He called the situation in Gaza “heartbreaking”

In an interview, Ruffalo said:

“I’m a humanist… what’s happening there is inhumane. It’s heartbreaking.” 

He was referring to the suffering of civilians in Gaza during the war.

2. He said the famine in Gaza is a “man-made disaster”

In 2025 he posted a video saying:

“This is not a natural disaster… it’s a man-made disaster.” 

He blamed the war and blockade for causing hunger and called on world leaders to act and stop the killing of civilians.

3. He supports a ceasefire (stop the war)

At the 2024 Oscars, he wore a red Artists4Ceasefire pin and said:
• There should be a ceasefire
• Hostages should be released
• Children should stop being killed 

4. He signed petitions supporting Palestinians

Ruffalo has also:
• Signed letters criticizing attacks on Gaza hospitals. 
• Signed a pledge by Film Workers for Palestine to boycott some Israeli film institutions linked to the war.
