Jayden Learns to Code!

Jayden taps on his little blue tablet as he learns to code.
He tries new ideas, builds simple programs, and laughs through each small win.

Check out the last slide! It captures his favourite learning moment.

You can almost hear him say, “Again, again!”

Check out her inspiring story on Humans of Algo Peers and follow the page to always stay updated.

Meet Grace Arkoh, who is becoming a problem-solving-oriented computer scientist.

Two years ago, she didn't know anything about computing. Now, at just 13, she's developing skills. She's built a plant-growth monitoring system using physical computing for her backyard garden, where she grows tomatoes and okra.

Grace believes that young people like her are capable of solving their own problems. Currently, she and her teammate, Charles, are competing in the MIT Global AI Hackathon, addressing in with responsible .

In , it is common to touch the lid of bins when discarding , even at hospitals, posing hygiene and risks.

On , we applaud 14-year-old Winifred and her team for the smart bin, a micro:bit-powered solution that improves bin operation in hospitals and reduces infection risk.

Beyond its benefits, the smart bin is designed for everyone to use easily, promoting .

Winifred's parents and everyone were happy to see Winifred present her team's innovation.

And we are inspired to nurture the next generation of problem-solvers in Africa through equitable STEAM education.

Charles from Akotokyer, Ghana, is back with another exciting project for our 30-Day Coding Challenge: the Firefly project!

This project mimics the behavior of real fireflies using the micro:bit's radio communication feature. When you press button A on any micro:bit, all of the micro:bits will light up in sequence, as if they were a swarm of fireflies.

Charles improvised this project quite well, as he does not have many micro:bits at home to create the swarm effect. Instead, he used his micro:bit simulator to create the firefly effect, which is truly amazing!

Watch Charles demonstrate the firefly project on Microsoft Flip!
