A MESSAGE FROM THE CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (CENSUD) - KOFORIDUA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY AS TODAY MARKS THE AFRICAN UNION DAY

On this auspicious occasion of African Union Day, we are reminded of the need for collective efforts toward achieving sustainable development in Africa. As a Centre for Sustainable Development (CensuD)- KTU, we strongly advocate for the implementation of the Agenda 2063 - The Africa We Want.

Agenda 2063 is a blueprint for Africa's transformation that concretizes the aspirations of the African people as enshrined in the African Union's Constitutive Act, African Common Position on Sustainable Development Goals, and the African Charter on Democracy, Elections, and Governance.

The Agenda 2063 seeks to, among others, provide a shared strategic framework for inclusive growth and sustainable development in Africa, strengthen Africa's capacity to self-determine its path of development, promote an integrated and people-centered development approach, and foster a prosperous, peaceful, and united Africa.

To achieve these noble aspirations, it calls for the active participation and collaboration of all stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and individuals, in the implementation of the agenda's various pillars and flagship programs.

As sustainable development experts and practitioners, we pledge to support the African Union and member states in realizing Agenda 2063's vision for a better Africa. We call on all Africans to take ownership of the agenda and contribute their part toward building a prosperous and sustainable continent.

Together, let us work towards making the Africa we want a reality!
