UHAS-FNBSPH Nkabom Collaborative

The Association of Ghana Industries Accra, in collaboration with Nkabom Collaborative @ UHAS-FNBSPH, successfully organised a two-day training programme on 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 from 18 to 19 May 2026 at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, UHAS premises.

The programme equipped participants with practical skills in business growth, customer engagement, branding, digital promotion, and sales strategy. Participants also explored ways to improve market visibility and expand customer access through digital platforms.

The training brought together students, entrepreneurs, and innovators committed to building sustainable and competitive businesses in Ghana.

Students and faculty from the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, UHAS participated in the Nkabom Students' Networking Day hosted by Ashesi University on May 19, 2026.

This forum brought together students and innovators from partner institutions, including KNUST, KTU, UESD, UG, McGill University, and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).

For us at UHAS, this event strongly reaffirmed a core truth: food security is a fundamental public health issue. Addressing it requires coordinated, multi-disciplinary responses spanning health, agriculture, environment, engineering, and the social sciences.

1. The exceptional quality of the oral and poster presentations proved that Ghanaian students are producing high-impact research of real practical value.

Over the weekend, a delegation from the School of Population and Global Health (SPGH) at McGill University visited the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, UHAS, as part of ongoing Nkabom Collaborative activities.

During the visit, both teams engaged in discussions to identify opportunities for collaboration, including UHAS’s graduate programmes, McGill’s Summer Institutes in Global Health, faculty engagement initiatives, and joint efforts related to the McGill Postdoctoral programme.

There were also a series of colloquia on Data Science, Integrated Innovation, Transitioning Micronutrient Interventions to Scale, and an NCDs-Centred Approach to Problem-Based Learning.

This visit reinforced our years of strategic partnership and the expanding opportunities for young people.

The visit ended with a trip to the magnificent Wli Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in Ghana.

The UHAS-FNBSPH Nkabom Collaborative very first cohort of MPH Nutrition in Maternal and Child Health students has been hitting the ground running since January!

This cohort, already deep into the coursework and research that will define the future of maternal wellbeing and nutritional policy, represents a diverse group of dedicated professionals committed to improving the lives of mothers and children through evidence-based nutritional strategies.

Launching a new program is a significant milestone, but it is the passion and dedication of these inaugural students that truly bring the curriculum to life.

As they progress through their first semester, we look forward to the impact they will undoubtedly make in improving health outcomes and bridging gaps in nutritional equity. We can't wait to see where their expertise takes them and the communities they will serve.

A team from UHAS-FNBSPH Nkabom Collaborative joined representatives from other partners of the Collaborative for a transformative immersion program at the UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic in Morocco.

The program, held from the 9th to the 12th of February, was attended by Professor Fred Binka, Prof. Frank Baiden and Professor Paul Amuna, who explored a blueprint for the modern African University.
