Accra College of Education Hosts Launch of One Million Coders Initiative
20th May 2026

Accra College of Education proudly hosted the launch of the One Million Coders Initiative yesterday, 20th May 2026. The initiative was officially launched by the Honourable Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, and received an enthusiastic welcome from the College Principal, Prof. Samuel Awikini Atintono.

The event marks a significant step toward equipping Ghana’s youth with digital skills for the future.

STUDENTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP & ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT (SEED) PROGRAM BY THE 59TH NUGS.

The 59th National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) successfully organized the *Students Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development (SEED)* program, an initiative aimed at empowering students with practical knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and business development.

The event brought together young, innovative minds and provided a platform for learning, networking, and inspiration. Participants were exposed to valuable insights on starting and managing businesses, identifying opportunities, and building sustainable enterprises in today’s dynamic economic environment.

The 63rd SRC Administration was also present at the program, alongside a number of students who had the privilege of witnessing and benefiting from the event. Their participation highlighted the SRC’s commitment to promoting student development beyond academics, particularly in the area of entrepreneurship.

Overall, the SEED program served as a significant step toward nurturing the entrepreneurial potential of students and equipping them to become job creators and leaders in their respective fields.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for Accra College of Education as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for the establishment of the China–Africa Teacher Education Center (CATEC), West Africa Branch, Accra, Ghana.

The center, to be located on the campus of Accra College of Education, aims to strengthen and advance teacher education across West Africa through collaboration, innovation, and capacity building.

The signing ceremony was led by the Principal of the College, Prof. Samuel Awinkini Atinton, whose leadership continues to position the institution at the forefront of educational development in the region.

This initiative represents a major step forward in fostering international partnerships and enhancing the quality of teacher education.
