Adomba Lucky represents Ghana in the 5TH GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON THE ELIMINATION OF CHILD LABOUR held in Durban, South Africa.🇿🇦

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, while spending some holidays in Sogakope with my mother following the completion of my clinical internship at Tema General Hospital, I received an unprecedented call from the office of NUGS - National Union of Ghana Students under the auspices of H.E Dennis Appiah Larbi Ampofoh, through the Secretary for Programs and Projects, Miss Bridget Agyemang.
The only thing I could remember from that call was her question “LUCKY, DO YOU HAVE A PASSPORT?” and I responded NO PLEASE! Ladies and Gentlemen, the conversations thenceforth in terms of passport application and visa acquisition has all been between God, NUGS, All-Africa Students UNION AASU, Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation and the 100 Million Campaign Foundation.
Conference kick-started on Sunday, May 15 to Friday May 20, 2022.
It is worth noting that, South Africa happens to be the first African country to ever host the ILO Conference. The 5TH Global Conference On The Elimination Of Child was held in the Kwazulu-Natal Province of Durban at the International Convention Center, ICC, which is the largest convention center in Africa and was attended by top government officials from all over the world, renowned business people, trade unionists and NGOs worldwide.
The conference was organized by the International Labour Organization, ILO, a UN agency on the world of work, promoting jobs and protecting people since 1919.
I would like to specially render my sincerest gratitude to God Almighty who has made this possible, and to also thank H.E Dennis Appiah Larbi-Ampofoh, the 56Th NUGS President for the recommendation. I would like to also thank the Kailash Satyarthi Foundation and the 100 Million Campaign Foundation for making my participation in the conference a momentous one.
