The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Roland Atanga Ayoo has called on staff of the Assembly to build and maintain a positive attitude to work; as any wrong or awful attitude of even a single staff could present a bad image for the Assembly in the eyes of the public.
The MCE also charged the staff and various departments not to abdicate their core functions to the Assembly’s committees but remain up-to-the-beat and take full discharge of their duties as he emphasized; “the Committees are only complementing your work for which you get paid at the end of every month”.
Hon. Ayoo was addressing a Management Meeting this Tuesday morning (June 23, 2026) at the Assembly’s conference hall. The meeting is convergence of all Heads Of Department as well as, other Unit Heads of decentralized state institutions.
Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Alhassan Abdulai earlier opened the meeting with brief remarks to his staff, urging them to make meaningful contributions that could speed up the development of the Municipality. He later called up each Head to make brief departmental presentations on their activities executed so far, next plans and challenges they were encountering in the discharge of their mandate.
The Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Hon. Roland Ayo Atanga has pledged the full support and cooperation of the Assembly for the work of the National Road Safety Authority and any interventions the Authority plans to roll out in the jurisdiction of the Municipality as far as such interventions will contribute to reducing accidents to the least record.
Hon. Ayoo made the pledge last Friday when the Director General of the Authority, Mr. Abraham Amaliba, in the company of his Upper East Regional Director and some staff from the headquarters, paid a courtesy on the MCE at the Assembly.
The MCE observed that majority of the Municipality’s residents ride motorcycles as a major means of commute but that sadly, only a few wear protective helmets for such vehicles. He thus urged the DG and the Authority to join efforts with other stakeholders like the Ghana Police Service to enforce helmet gear for riders whilst instilling general sanity on the Municipality’s roads so as to save lives.
