Tack's-Corner Mileba Palace in the News: Showcasing the Economic Value of the Salt Mine and Indigenous Livelihoods.
We are proud to share a short documentary feature captured by GTV News during the funeral and burial ceremony of the late Madam Christine Adzoyovi Azalekor, affectionately known as Sukutor, the beloved daughter of Torgbi Kofi Azalekor, held on March 23rd, 2025.
This powerful video offers a glimpse into the rich traditions of the Tack's-Corner community, while also bringing to light the economic assets that sustain the local people.
At the heart of the community's economy is the salt mine, a precious natural resource and a symbol of generational sustenance and industry.
Alongside salt production, the people of Mileba are deeply involved in coconut oil extraction, traditional weaving, and farming all integral to both their cultural heritage and their economic resilience.
