5 Secrets to Boost Your Child's Brain Power at Home 🧠✨
Education doesn't end at 3:00 PM! 🕒By Dr. Kwaning Kwabena Amoah Nyame. (Principal, Family Trust International School)

As your Principal, I’m often asked: "How can I help my students become sharper and more creative at home?"

The secret is in the "Whole-Brain" approach. Here are 5 simple, Ghanaian-parent-approved tips to nurture both the analytical left and the creative right brain this week:

The "Market Math" Challenge (Left Brain) 💰 Next time you're shopping, ask your child to help you calculate the change or compare prices of two items. It turns "sums" into real-world problem-solving!

Storytelling with a Twist (Right Brain) 📖 Don’t just read a story—ask them to change the ending! "What if Ananse had shared the pot of wisdom?" This builds imagination and critical thinking.

Nature’s Science Lab (Analytical & Creative) 🌱 Plant a few seeds in a tin. Let them track the growth (analytical) and draw pictures of the leaves as they change (creative).

The "Why" Game ❓ When your child asks "Why?", don't just give the answer. Ask, "What do YOU think is the reason?" This strengthens the neural pathways used for logic.

Music & Movement (Total Brain Integration) 🥁 Traditional drumming or dancing to your favorite highlife tune isn't just fun—it requires the brain to coordinate rhythm (math) with expression (art).

The Family Trust Promise: We do our part in the classroom, but with your partnership at home, your child becomes unstoppable! 🚀

The "Call to Action: "Which of these will you try this evening? Let us know in the comments!"

Is Your Child a Scientist or an Artist? At Family Trust, They are BOTH! 🧠🔬🎨

The Whole-Brain Child
Most schools focus on the "Left Brain"—the logic, the maths, and the memorization. But at Family Trust International School, we know that a truly brilliant leader needs BOTH sides to win! 🇬🇭✨

We don't just teach; we unlock. By understanding the science of brain development, we purposefully nurture:

✅ The Analytical Left Brain: For the logic, the problem-solving, and the "A+" in Science and Maths. 📈 ✅ The Creative Right Brain: For the innovation, the leadership, and the "outside-the-box" thinking that changes the world. 💡

Why settle for half when your child has a whole brain? From our toddlers to our seniors, we use specialized teaching methods that ensure no talent is left behind. We are building the architects, the doctors, the tech-geniuses, and the creative icons of a Brighter Ghana.

Don't just put your child in a classroom. Put them in an incubator for greatness. 🚀

The First 1,000 Days: Building a Legacy from the Start! 🇬🇭✨
The Foundation of Greatness
Did you know that from birth to age 3, a child’s brain is developing faster than at any other time in their life? At Family Trust International School, we don’t wait for "school age" to start caring—we understand that the foundation for a brilliant future is laid right now.

We are committed to nurturing the "Total Child" by prioritizing the two pillars of early genius: Superior Nutrition and Unwavering Consistent Care.

What this means at Family Trust:

0–3 Years & Beyond: We recognize that brain cells (neurons) are making millions of connections every second. We provide the stimulation and environment to make those connections strong! ⚡

Nutrition for Intelligence: We advocate for and provide diets rich in the vitamins and minerals that fuel cognitive growth. A well-fed brain is a brain ready to lead. 🍎🐟

A Sanctuary of Care: Our consistent, loving environment ensures that every child feels safe. When a child feels secure, their brain moves from "growing" to "thriving."

At Family Trust, we aren't just a school; we are your partners in development. We ensure that every child who passes through our gates is physically fueled and mentally prepared to become a leader for a brighter Ghana.

The best investment you can make is in these early years. Let’s do it together!

The Science of Care
Feed the Body, Grow the Brain! 🧠🇬🇭
Did you know that by age 2, a child’s brain has already reached 80% of its adult size?

At Family Trust International School, we know that the "magic" in our classrooms only happens when it is supported by the right foundation at home. To build the analytical minds and future leaders of Ghana, two things are non-negotiable: Excellent Nutrition and Consistent Care.

Why it matters:

Nutrition is Fuel: The brain is the most "expensive" organ in the body to run. Omega-3s, iron, and proteins found in our local eggs, fish, and greens are the building blocks for the neurons that help your child solve math problems and think creatively. 🐟🥚

Consistency is Security: When a child receives consistent care and a steady routine, their brain stays out of "survival mode" and moves into "learning mode." A happy, secure child is a child who excels! 🏠❤️

Our Commitment: We don't just teach—we partner with you. From monitoring your child's energy levels in class to providing a nurturing environment, we are dedicated to the "Total Child."

Let’s give our children the best start possible. Because a well-nourished brain today is a transformed Ghana tomorrow!

Fueling the Future
Bright Minds Need Great Fuel! 🍎🥣
Did you know that what’s in your child’s lunchbox is just as important as what’s in their schoolbag? At Family Trust International School, we see the difference every day!

A child who is well-nourished and consistently cared for is a child who is ready to learn, play, and lead. Good nutrition isn't just about a full stomach—it’s about brain power, steady energy, and a strong immune system.

Our "Healthy Leader" Checklist:

Brain Foods: Include proteins, fruits, and traditional staples like kontomire or eggs to keep their focus sharp. 🧠

Hydration: Plenty of water to keep the brain active during those afternoon lessons! 💧

Consistent Care: A steady routine of early sleep and emotional support creates the security a child needs to excel. 🏠❤️

At Family Trust, we don't just care about the grades on the report card; we care about the health of the child behind the desk. Let’s work together to ensure our children have the energy to chase their biggest dreams!

In a Changing World, Some Truths are Eternal. 🇬🇭

At Family Trust International School (FTIS), we don't just teach for the next exam; we teach for a lifetime. Our Perennialist approach is built on the belief that truth is universal and unchanging, regardless of time or place.

Why this matters for your ward:

Rationality & Moral Power: We believe that human beings are rational animals. We develop our students' minds and moral powers side-by-side, teaching them to use their reasoning skills to lead with wisdom.

The Power of Reason: By strengthening their reasoning skills, we empower our students to use their "higher faculties" to control their passions, appetites, and desires.

Timeless Wisdom: Our curriculum is rich in the humanities, focusing on history, religion, and literature. We believe that past ideas remain relevant today and are essential for understanding the great work of civilization.

Give your child the gift of wisdom. Choose FTIS. 🇬🇭

Why Choose Family Trust International School (FTIS)?

At FTIS, we don't just "teach"—we provide a foundation for life. We are a business entity in Ghana dedicated to ending the culture of "chew and pour" through five powerful educational pillars:

Mastery of Essentials: We emphasize the 4Rs—Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, and Right Conduct. Our teachers serve as paragons of virtue, ensuring your child has the fundamental skills needed for adult life.

Critical Thinking: Through Constructivism, we teach your ward how to learn, not just what to learn. We develop Higher Order Thinking Skills, empowering them to critique and evaluate information themselves.

Learning by Doing: As Progressivists, we believe book learning is no substitute for actual experience. We use field trips and problem-solving games to build enlightened citizens.

Moral Excellence: Following Perennialism, we develop rationality and moral power side-by-side. We believe the head should control the heart and its desires to build strong character.

The Perfect Environment: Through Behaviourism, we create a conducive classroom climate—both physically and psychologically—where every student feels respected, welcomed, and supported.
