The Last Night of Ramadan – A Lesson for Life
As the final night of Ramadan approached, Hamza sat in his small room, staring at the dim light of his lantern. The past month had been a time of devotion—fasting, praying, and seeking Allah’s mercy. But deep inside, he felt a weight on his heart.
Had he done enough? Had he truly changed?
He thought about the first night of Ramadan, how excited he had been, promising himself that this time, he would make the most of it. He had woken up for Tahajjud, recited more Qur'an, given charity, and controlled his tongue. But as the days passed, his energy faded, and old habits slowly crept back in.
Now, with only hours left before Eid, Hamza realized something important: Ramadan was never about a temporary change. It was a training ground for life.
Tears filled his eyes as he raised his hands in dua, whispering:
"Ya Allah, let the spirit of Ramadan stay in my heart even after it ends. Don’t let me return to my old ways. Let me be among those whose Ramadan is accepted."
As the dawn of Eid approached, Hamza smiled. He finally understood—Ramadan may end, but the lessons must live on.
To you reading this: If you prayed more in Ramadan, don’t stop after it. If you gave charity, continue giving. If you avoided sin, keep fighting your desires. Because the Lord of Ramadan is the Lord of every month.
May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and efforts. Ameen.
